The Umbria region

Villa Campogrande is located at the borders between Umbria and Tuscany at only 3 kilometres from the fascinating historical town of Città della Pieve, birthplace of Pietro Vannucci known as "Il Perugino", the Italian Reinassance painter master of Raffaello.

Città della Pieve is one of the most known historical cities of Umbria, situated on a hill overlooking the Chiana Valley and Lake Trasimeno, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. The city has one of the most airy views of central Italy to the South, Mount Cimino and on the South -East, the Peglia and the Sibillini Mountains, to the east , the Montarale, the Valley of Nestore and Subasio, to the North, the hills that crown over Lake Trasimeno and the Chiana Valley and the Pratomagno, to the West, Amiata and closer, Cetona.

The landscapes remind the paintings of the greatest son of this city, Pietro Vannucci known as "Il Perugino ". The city has cultural elements from Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio.

The urban form of the city resembles an eagle , the symbol of the Emperor Federico II, during which the city gained its urban structure which arrived intact to this days. Curiously, the three parts of the "eagle" coincide with the three Terzieri, the administrative divisions of the city, which in turn refer to the three social classes: the head corresponds to the Terziere Castello or class of knights, the belly, the Terziere Borgo Dentro or the middle class, the wing - tail, the Terziere Casalino or the class of pedestrians.
