Mayfly Cottage is a sweet, pretty property set in a stunning location at the edge of one of our most beautiful Cotswolds villages, Coln St Aldwyns.

It is a perfect romantic getaway for 2 people and is surrounded by woodland and countryside and overlooking the River Coln.

Originally converted from an old barn some 200 years old, the whole cottage has been lovingly cared for so as to retain the character that you would expect. The old owl hole, original beams and loft remain, whilst central heating and the high standard of equipment ensure complete comfort whatever the season. Country walks can begin from the doorstep and the centre of the village with its excellent pub and village stores is only a five minute stroll. This is a very popular cottage with many guests returning year after year - you will understand!

"Beautiful surroundings but a little too cosy."

A stunning situation with spectacular views but a little on the small side and certainly not child friendly but the owners were very pleasant and very friendly dogs. Would definitely recommend it for … More

"A cottage in beautiful surroundings!"

This small converted barn which sleeps two, is set amongst the most beautiful countryside in the Cotswolds. Although it is in the grounds of the owner's home, you are given the freedom to wander around their gardens and enjoy the magnificent views. A few little extras would have slightly improved our experience, such as a pair of oven gloves, instructions for the electrical equipment (we found them eventually), a book of things to do and see in the local area, recomendations for local walks, pubs, restaurants etc, and a visitors book to share our experiences. It didn't spoil our stay by any means but the little touches would have been nice.
