This stunning contemporary SOUTH WEST detached eco 4 bedroom/4 bathroom property (270m2) was featured in “House and Garden" Magazine, described as "the most striking modernist house in Cotswolds, extraordinary property with first class catering on tap". In July 2010 "The Times", described it as" in top 20 best waterside developments in Europe, offering the latest in eco design and luxury". Larchwood Lodge was extensively covered in September 2010 issue of Essential Kitchen Bathroom & Bedroom. Sixteen pages of pictures and editorial, the biggest coverage ever received in the life of this prestigious magazine. Described as a stunning “House on the Lake” with spectacular views, one of the most luxurious developments in the country.
Most recently “Larchwood Lodge featured in Sunday Times 50 Coolest UK Cottages:
“Eco-chic Larchwood Lodge is basically a photo shoot waiting to happen. It’s on a sustainable development designed by the likes of Jade Jagger, Kelly Hoppen and Philippe Starck, set in 650 acres of clear-water lakes and ancient woodlands — yet it’s within 15 minutes of the cutest of Cotswolds towns, Bourton-on-the-Water.”
The latest coverage we have received was in a prestigious London’s “City Square Mile Magazine” descried as “Larchwood Lodge is a monolithic masterpiece: a design so grand that it would have Kevin McCloud reaching for similes from the sky, a relatively modest four-bed, four-bath count – however, given that one of those bedrooms doubles up as a cinema room and another has a surface area larger than most people’s flats, it’s by no means a meagre affair”

The Central England / Cotswolds / Cheltenham / Gloucester region

Region:
April 2008 - Online magazine AskMen.com has compiled a list of the top ten ‘paradise’ locations around the world that seem to have remained untouched by civilisation. The Cotswolds is 2nd Place!
The region is famous for its ancient mellow ‘honey’ coloured limestone villages that blend perfectly into the countryside and its bustling market towns. Many have scarcely altered since they grew up on the prosperity of the medieval wool trade in the 15th and 16th centuries and subsequently forgotten about for more then 300 years. This sequence of events now makes the Cotswolds region one of the most treasured, toured and vacationed in England and the UK for nowhere else will you see such timeless uniqueness and heart warming preservation on such a scale.
Many traditional villages within 15 minutes reach, offering tradition combined with chic
Ideal for antique hunters :visit the charming villages of Bourton on the Water (the Venice of the Cotswolds), Burford, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Camden (plus many others), the larger spa towns of Bath (a World Heritage Site) and Cheltenham (famed for it’s beautiful Regency
architecture) or Oxford (the city of dreaming spires) and Stratford upon Avon just over 1 hour away.
For those looking for a bargain, Bicester Village offers most sought-after brands at prices reduced by up to 60%
The Cirencester area
Cirencester is the nearest town and is only 10 minutes drive, where you will find large Tesco, Waitrose, M&S and a good variety of shops/boutiques, pubs and restaurants.
The town of Cirencester (formerly named Corinium was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times) is home to the Corinium Museum, the Cirencester Abbey (the longest known Saxon church in England) and host to regular market days.

Gliding at Cotswold Gliding Club

Our family ranged from seven years to eighty coming from Brisbane and Chester to celebrate a very 'important' birthday! It was a faultless week and we were fortunate with the weather. The house is set in a peaceful and beautiful setting: we were very happy and comfortable with the house. An added bonus was a 'user friendly' clubhouse. The large area was well maintained and very natural. |

What a weekend! Larchwood Lodge lived up to our every expectation, and more . . . The website photos were stunning, and we certainly weren't disappointed - when we arrived, my friends were open-mouthed and couldn't stop saying 'wow'! The owner, Kasha Grimes, made sure that everything we wanted was there and our every need was catered for, and all done with such grace and a genuine, helpful attitude. The combination of luxury, peace and tranquility is a tonic for the soul. I will definitely be going back again, and again! |

We stayed for 5 days at the Glass House, part of the development called Lakes by Yoo. It was a beautiful setting, right on the lake, and the whole family loved sitting out on the spacious balcony watching the swans. The house was nicely furnished with great attention to detail. There was nothing missing. There was plenty to do -- we went Kayaking (the boats are available for use to tenants) and there was a great playground for the kids on the development, together with a well-equipped gym and a small clubhouse. We ordered a meal through the concierge service the first night we were there and they can organise food deliveries, etc. I highly recommend this as a get-away for the family. |
Guestbook for Larchwood Lodge/ Lakes by Yoo
Dear Kasha and John,
I hope you are well.
We just wanted to write to say we enjoyed our weekend in Larchwood Lodge so much! We all had an absolutely wonderful weekend of luxury, tranquillity and fun!
Larchwood Lodge is a true gem - beautifully designed, luxurious, opulent and homely. We all felt so comfortable and welcomed from the moment we arrived – the house exudes warmth and panache. The entire weekend was perfect, flawless, and we are so grateful for your effort in making it a really memorable break!
Lydia and Andrew took advantage of the Kayak and the jogging paths, whilst I and Pawel opted for a more leisurely time relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine! The weather didn’t put us off at all; the magic of the lake is that it looks stunning in every condition, constantly changing, mist, ripples and colour… I don’t think you could ever tire of the view!
The Estate itself was superb, such effort has gone into the design of the place, we felt completely secluded – brilliant not to be able to see the neighbouring lodges, and to have the entirely unspoilt view.
Without doubt you have created:
Child friendly – perfect family location (you weren’t exaggerating when you said the house was equipped with everything!)
Luxurious and opulent design
A unique and cosmopolitan way to enjoy the countryside
Secure and Safe
Something to suit everyone, from Kayaking and cycling to cinema and Wii
Ideally located – perfect to explore the Cotswolds, easily accessible from London.
Seclusion and privacy without feeling remote.
All in all a unique, unforgettable and inimitable experience
Best Wishes,
CJames

"A huge thank you for providing such an idyllic, beautiful, truly beyond 5 star retreat which accommodated our every possible need.
The lodge was exceptionally spacious and absolutely stunning! Your attention to detail is impressive made the visit very special and all of the luxury, stylish rooms with designer furniture were a real treat! Not surprised House and Garden Magazine has featured this Unique Home.
Jacuzzi bath in the master bathroom, cinema room, high tech spec, fantastically equipped kitchen, private exceptionally large all day sun verandah, use of bicycles and kayak, unobstructed views from every room make this an ideal getaway for every occasion.
The setting is fantastic. The lake was serene, and our stay was totally reviving. We didn't want to leave! We look forward to coming back here again and again."

Good morning Kasha
We had the most wonderful weekend at Larchwood Lodge. Your attention to detail – including the toys for the children and emergency supplies – was truly amazing. You have clearly given your place a lot of consideration as we wanted for nothing. It was truly spectacular.
Our only sadness was that we didn’t book for a longer period. We will definitely be back.
Thank you to You and John for all your efforts in making our brief stay truly wonderful.
We took your advice and had lunch at The Swan. We managed to get a table outside under the tree which was really special and was a wonderful way to end our weekend.
Thank you once again
Tod Ridgway stayed 18th September - 21st September 2009
Dear Kasha,
We can not put in words how great our weekend was. It was lovely to spend time together in such wonderful surroundings.
Ella, our granddaughter, just loved ever moment of it - especially the swans.
Des, the Birthday “boy”, thought the lodge was amazing and none of us wanted to leave.
Once again thank you for a weekend we will all remember for a long time.
Regards,
Brenda
October 2010 - Larchwood Lodge
We arrived home safely and having just had dinner and talked about the whole experience have all agreed that we will never forget our time together in Larchwood Lodge. We just chilled out and looked at the lake and enjoyed our time together and we have all said that we would love to go again with the girls partners Edward and Trevor in the future because it is just such a special experience and quite unique. Your attention to detail is wonderful and the little touches like the arrival tray and the wonderful scents in all the rooms say a lot about you.
It was everything I wanted it to be. Kasha and I am so glad that I found you when searching for something so special for us all.
