Trout Lodge is located just 6 miles south of Cirencester on the luxury Lower Mill Estate, a 550 acre nature reserve. Guests have complementary use of an exclusive on-site spa with 3 pools, steam room, sauna, gym and treatment rooms. Perfect to help you relax and unwind.

The Lower Mill Estate boasts many lakes, nature walks, tennis courts, children's play areas, trampolines and is a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers, so it's worth digging out the binoculars and keeping eyes peeled for the wildfowl, deer and even the first families of European beavers to be re-introduced into England.

Newly refurbished and refurnished for Autumn 2013, Trout Lodge sleeps 10 in five bedrooms, with two en-suite bathrooms and one family bathroom. There are two double rooms, a twin bedded room, and two bedrooms each with bunk beds. There is also a travel cot available if required. Trout Lodge is just the place for chilled out gatherings of family and friends.

The house is arranged over three floors with a westerly aspect to make full use of the afternoon sun and has a private balcony on the middle floor overlooking the trout pond, which is the ideal spot to enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set.

The ground floor consists of a double en-suite bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with full-size bunk beds, both with patio doors leading to the sun deck, a grassed area and the trout pond. Additionally, on the ground floor there is a family bathroom, a further twin bedroom and a utility room with a washer-dryer.

The middle floor with its open-plan lounge, dining area and kitchen is the focal point of the house with its vaulted ceilings and polished wood floors, leather sofas and large solid oak dining table. The lounge area is fully equipped with a 32” LED Smart TV with FreeView, a BluRay/DVD player and a DAB/CD stereo system. There is a range of books and games and free wireless broadband access is provided. The designer wood burner is perfect to gather around on winter nights. The kitchen is well equipped with built-in dishwasher, fridge and freezer, gas hob, double electric oven and microwave. There is a further bedroom with full-size bunk beds on this floor..

On the top floor there is a double en-suite bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, skylights and a window overlooking the middle floor living area.

A high chair, travel cot, changing-mat, stair gate, along with plastic plates, cups, bowls, and toddler cutlery, are available for use by our younger guests.

The rental fee includes complementary access to the Lower Mill ArtSpa and free, unlimited Wi-Fi access within the property.

Privately-owned home with local owner to provide you with that personal touch for your family holiday.

Further details outdoors:

Lower Mill Estate has two tennis courts, two play areas, trampolines and with seven lakes there are lots of perfect opportunities for bird-watching, fishing, boating and numerous walking and cycling trails throughout the nature reserve, many of which are fine for a sturdy baby buggy.

The estate has a speed limit of 10mph and pedestrians have priority so it's the ideal place for children to roam freely on their bikes. Many comment that Lower Mill often feels like a time warp back to a lost world, in which children could play safely outside all day and temporarily forget computer games were ever invented.

Just one minute walk from the house, guests have inclusive access to the £6 million ArtSpa featuring a slate-lined 20m indoor pool, heated slate-lined 10m outdoor pool, outdoor plunge eco pool, steam room, sauna, gym and treatment rooms where you can pre-book indulgent massages and pampering sessions to sooth away the stress.

Enjoy a coffee and croissant at the onsite cafe or stock up on last minute provisions in the shop with locally-sourced meat and vegetables. You can also order fresh bread or newspapers for collection in the mornings.

Located in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park there are many other activities for visitors to enjoy nearby whilst on holiday - including water-skiing, wake boarding, paint-balling, sailing, horse riding, cycling, fishing, shooting and golf. Bicycles and kayaks are available to hire locally. There's even a beach and lake for paddling at the nearby country park, just 10 minutes walk from the house. Historic Cirencester is 5 miles away and if you fancy eating out locally, there is a local pub with a good menu and real ales only 20 minutes easy walk, with several others within a short drive.

Please note that with the close proximity to open water throughout Lower Mill, young children should not be allowed to play unsupervised.

"A wonderful place to stay with a group of friends and family of all ages"

We spent a week in Trout Lodge over Christmas. It was a lovely, spacious lodge, with the double height ceiling in the living space a great feature making the place feel even larger.

The owners have taken a great care with the small details, like children's plates, games, DVDs, a Christmas tree with decorations and little touches like dishwasher tablets that are often not provided.

The bunk beds are large enough, even for adults, and the bunk room on same floor as the main living area is far enough away from the lounge areas to not be interrupted by noise.

The facilities in the spa are great and it is very near by (1 minute walk).

Only negative would be that the fridge is small for large groups, but then we did have Christmas dinner to deal with.....

Very happy to recommend this to anyone, winter or summer.

Thank you for your kind review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Trout Lodge and hope you will visit us again soon.
