About the home

Mallard is a new centally heated apartment finished with a great deal of care to a high specification, it is sunny and south facing and is sited up a short flight of stairs. Awarded an AA 4 Star rating.

We are in the heart of the Cotswolds close to Cirencester, Northleach, Lechlade, Burford and many other pretty places and idealy placed for local walking.

The Royal International Air Tattoo based at Raf Fairford each July is only 10 minutes away. If you love the turf we are a 45 minute drive away from Cheltenham for the March race meeting.

We have Carp and Course fishing on the doorstep and Golf within 9 miles.

Outside is here is a large lawn and patio area for guests to enjoy, childrens play eqipment and also, of course, the lake to sit by and while away the hours. There is a wealth of local pubs and resaurants in the nearby villages with supurb food on offer.

Large Kitchen/Living/Dining room, ceramic hob and a large quality microwave with grill fridge, kettle and toaster, and well equipped with plenty for five
Bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 has a Triple Bunk, full size double with a single over the top, both bedrooms have ample wardrobe and draw space.
In the Bathroom, bath with shower over and glass screen, WC and wash basin and heated towel rail.
All bed linen is fine 400 thread count egyptian cotton, and large fluffy towels
High chair and cot are available at no extra charge.
Smoke and heat alarms.
No Pets and No Smoking..
Heating and electric inluded all year.
Welcome pack of Tea, Coffee and Cookies provided.
We are pleased to offer you free WI-FI.

Owners live on site, we can provide any information you may need,and generally point you in the right direction.

You will spot many water birds on the lake, Swans, many Ducks, Grebes, Moorhens and Coots plus many babies in the spring. We are also home to wild Deer, Rabbits and Squirels

Outside is a dedicated patio area for guests with BBQ and garden furniture, a large lawned area and childrens swings and slide set on rubber safety chips, a trampoline and see-saw. There is a lakeside area set aside for guests to use and of course the rest of the lake walks on site and nearby to enjoy.

Fishing on our day ticket lake, there will be a charge for this.

We are next door to Water Skiing and Banana Boat rides, there is also a charge for this.

You will find a Nature Reserve 200 yards away with plenty to see in the bird hide.

At Lechlade Marina, 4 miles, have a canal boat ride during the summer months.

Conditions

A deposit of 50% is payable on booking with the balance payable six weeks before holiday date.
On bookings made within six weeks of the start date, full payment is required.
We accept payment by Credit or Debit card by arangment, Cheque, Bank Transfer or Paypal, (subject to a surcharge of 4%)
Arrival time is from 3pm and properties need to be vacated by 10am.

We are: Lakeview Holidays.
You will find us just off the A417 near Fairford.
We are surrounded by many places to visit, Fairford and its famous church windows, the Roman capital of Cirencester, historic Burford, Lechlade with lovely walks along the River Thames, Northleach and its famous Wool Church, Bourton on the Water and The Rissingtons plus many other pretty places all within easy reach.
For those who like to shop we are close to the Swindon Outlet Centre, Witney, and Cheltenham.
There are quiet walks to be had locally round our local Lakes here and along the River Coln.

The Cirencester / Fairford area

Cirencester, our local town, is famous for its Roman connections. The museum is a good day out with many Roman artifacts to see plus Saxon remains found in Lechlade during building works.
Each year in July we have the FAIRFORD AIR TATTOO (RIAT), (the airfield is not operational now except for the Tattoo), we are ideal for Air Show Planespotters. (2Miles)
Each March is Horse Racing at the CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL (26 miles)
Fairford is only 2 miles away and has all you need for Food shopping , Retaurants, Pubs and many Takeaways.
In Oxford, about 25 miles, you can ride on the open top bus and find out all the rich history of the city, most Universities are open to visitors and the Ashmoleum and Pitt River museums are worth a visit.
Golf is nearby, there are two pay and play 9 hole courses in Highworth (9 miles) with others, 18 hole, at Faringdon (9 miles) and Lyneham (22 miles).
We have Carp and Course Fishing on site and Trout fishing at Bibury (6 miles) and Lechlade (4 miles).
There is an indoor Swimming Pool at Cirencester (9 miles) and Swindon (9 miles).
Next door to us is a lake offering Water Skiing.
Sailing at Lechlade (3 miles).
Ten Pin Bowling and Multi Screen Cinemas at Swindon (10 miles).
Bird Spotting Hides at our local Nature Reserve (5 minutes on foot).

We are situated 9 miles from Cirencester, just off the A417 Fairford to Lechlade Road.

From M5 take junction 11a, the A419 to Cirencester.
From Cirencester: follow the A417 through Fairford towards Lechlade, turn right by the Shell garage towards Whelford, we are 500 yards down this road on the right, look for the sign for Lakeview Holidays and Whelford Pools Fisheries.

From M4 take junction 15, the A419 then A361 towards Lechlade
From Lechlade and the the A417 towards Fairford, turn left at the Shell garage.

From Burford: take the A361 to Lechlade, then A417 towards fairford.

“Lovely Cottage in stunning surrounds” Beautifull cottage with absolutely everything we could have wished for. My Wife & I went with our 5 year old daughter & stayed for 3 nights but we wished it was a fortnight!! Lots to do & see in nearby locations & a trampoline & a swing in the courtyard which was a huge hit with our daughter...!! We're sure to book again...!

“excellent accommodation, clean and comfortable. Very comfortable beds.” We had a lovely weekend here , visiting Raf Fairford for Riat, accommodation excellent. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. The only downside was no proper oven only microwave/ oven which I am useless with. Lovely location , stunning views .
