The area is ideal for walkers, explore the Forest from the doorstep using the multitude of forest tracks or walk designated paths such as The Offa's Dyke.

A mountain bikers haven, many designated cycle tracks through the forest can also be reached from the doorstep, guests are welcome to bring bikes or they can be hired locally.

Wildlife enthusiasts may see wild deer and boar in the Forest or even in our grounds. The peregrines often fly over from nearby Symonds Yat. Enjoy the RSPB centre at Nags Head and the lakes at Mallards Pike.

Historical places of interest include, Tintern Abbey, castles at St Bravials, Goodrich, Chepstow, Caldicot and Raglan and the local 'Cathedral of the Forest' at Newland. There are museums at Monmonth, Chepstow and Dean Heritage Centre.

Attractions include Clearwell caves, Dean forest railway, Puzzlewood (Dr Who and Merlin film location), Perrygrove Railway, Symonds Yat.

Outdoor pursuits include Canoeing, Cycling, Fishing, Caving, Go Ape high wire activity, Golf, Horse riding, River cruises.

Sorry But 10 am is vacate time not just getting up and deside to cook breakfast. We had other guest coming in the same day and had to get the house ready, John turned up at 10 20am and had work in the garden putting up the new swing chair he did not say anything to you and just carry on doing his jobs. It' takes the cleaner 4 hours to turn the house around .and that if its left clean .we run five star hoilday let's if you had let us no you would be late leavening we would had sort something out for you
