Home description

Spinney Retreat is a gorgeous property that has been sensitively converted from an old stable building into a charming holiday cottage. There's a lovely rustic wood burner in the sitting room, which is a great place to gather the family together. Whoever stays in this property has access to the owners’ games room on the farm and the farm grounds too. The property is all laid out on one floor and comprises of 1 double bedroom with en suite, 1 twin bedroom, a bathroom with bath and a shower, a fully fitted kitchen and a neat sitting room. There are exposed wood beams dotted about the property as well, which adds an authentic rural feel to the house.

The Heart of England / Peak District / Shropshire region

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.


Church Stretton / Cardington area

The fact that the village is in such unspoilt countryside means that it's a great location to have as a base for your holiday if you are fond of walking, cycling and nature spotting. Cardington is also famous for its pub, which is actually the oldest in Shropshire, so old in fact that it's even got a mention in the Domesday Book.

Ironbridge Gorge is in close proximity too and is well worth a visit. Ironbridge Gorge has a whopping 10 museums all housing different exhibitions and artefacts, so if the rain starts pouring on your holiday you can pack the kids up and make the short drive to Iron Gorge safe in the knowledge that when you get there they'll be occupied!

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

,Spinney Retreat was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly. It was very peaceful and the birdlife kept us intrigued for ages. The local pubs served wonderful food and everywhere the people were very pleasant and helpful. There were plenty of things to do, Ironbridge was great with loads of interesting things to see but our favourite was Much Wenlock, where we found the best butchers in the country!!
