Accommodation is of a high standard. Upstairs there is a double bedroom (which can be set up as one super-king size bed or two singles) with a shower room and lavatory. The gallery area between the bedroom and bathroom can accommodate twin beds if required. The property is officially classified as 'single family occupancy'. There is a well-equipped galley kitchen with gas cooker (hob and oven) and microwave. Outside, for al fresco eating and for you to enjoy the view, there is a decking area with a table, chairs and barbecue.

The Pottery has been renovated to a sound, eco friendly design. The timber, Douglas Fir and French Chestnut, come from sustainable sources, the paints and varnishes are non chemical based and the kitchen work top is made from recycled yoghurt pots! Hot water to The Pottery is provided by solar panels, weather permitting, although there is oil heating as a backup. There is a wonderful Clearview woodburner and we do not charge extra for any logs you burn.

As you would expect, there is central heating, a hair dryer, a radio, TV with freeview, a DVD player with integrated CD player and private parking on site.

We are happy to provide a cot, high chair and stair gates for little ones as required, but sorry we do not take pets. The Pottery is a non-smoking establishment.

There is a village pub half a mile away, serving real ale and good food. The county town of Shrewsbury, with its timber-framed buildings, 11 miles. Wenlock Edge and Much Wenlock town is 8 miles and Ludlow, with its Michelin starred restaurants, 15 miles. The Pottery is an ideal starting point from which to explore the area.

The Heart of England/Peak District

All Stretton is within 25 minutes drive of both Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Shrewsbury is Shropshire's picturesque county town, the centre of which is contained in the loop of the river Severn. It has has timber framed buildings, a good shopping centre, a sports centre called 'the Quarry' and a new two-theatre complex called Theatre Severn.

Ludlow is increasing known as a centre for good food. It has Michelin starred restaurants and a gourmet food centre just north of the town. Each year it has an arts festival, with a variety of productions, including the staging of outdoor Shakespeare productions within the castle.

Church Stretton

The Longmynd rises to the West of Church Stretton and is an area of over 8 square miles of National Trust moorland. It is wonderful for walking, mountain biking and enjoying nature.

Church Stretton is a historic market town and is the only town in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first Walkers are Welcome town in the Midlands and a Fairtrade town. The town has supermarkets and all shops you could reasonably need on your holiday. In addition there are excellent specialist shops which include an antiques emporium, a traditional menswear shop and a delicatessan. There is a new sports centre in the town which has a swimming pool, gym and a good selection of fitness classes.

The area is renowned worldwide for its geology, with some of the oldest rock formations in existence.Church Stretton also boasts the second highest golf course in Britain, where it is possible to 'pay per round' and enjoy wonderful views across Shropshire.
