Woodpecker Way is a cosy Four Star modern, semi-detached, single-storey property set in grounds overlooking the Wenlock Edge on Eaton Manor Country Estate. It is ideal for parents with a new baby, or a couple looking for a quiet escape to the country and is an ideal base for discovering the delights of South Shropshire. The enclosed south facing patio is a great place to enjoy for summer evenings
Eaton Manor Country Estate offers the perfect rural retreat set in 500 acres of beautiful countryside and, as an award winner in the 2012 national tourism awards for best self catering, we are sure you will enjoy every minute here and have a truly memorable stay.
The large bedroom has a 6’ double or twin beds, while the dining/sitting room opens out to a sunny south-facing patio with glorious views over the Dale.
Shropshire provides some of the Country’s most spectacular scenery. Eaton Manor is situated at the foot of the beautiful Shropshire Hills on the Jack Mytton Way.

Woodpecker Way is single-storey recently refurbished semi-detached brick property, with a private patio and magnificent views down the valley.
The Bedroom:
This is beautifully appointed with co-ordinated fabrics and a 6 ft double bed which can change to twin beds to accommodate our guests.
The Bathroom:
The bathroom has a bath with an over-head shower.
Dining/ Sitting Room:
This lovely room faces south and has large south facing patio doors which open out to the patio and an uninterrupted view down the valley. There is a dining table for 4.
Kitchen:
This is a fully equipped, modern fitted kitchen. It has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer dryer and also has everything you need to put together a meal for everyone.

This is enclosed and complete with patio furniture and BBQ, for al fresco dining.
Swimming Pool:
The shared swimming pool is a short walk, situated next to Pendennis (another of our properties). It is covered and heated (open April – October) and is ideal for children. There are parking and changing facilities. The pool is available at all times during your stay.
Parking:
There is plenty of off road parking for 2 cars. Additional parking is also available.
Activities:
This is a great walking area and the long distance walk The Jack Mytton way goes through Eaton.
If you'd like to try something different and have a guide to show you the area why not book a Nordic walking lesson.
Also on site we have an Olympic length indoor archery range which is used by the Commonwealth and Olympic teams for training. We can arrange for you to 'have a go' with a professional coach and all the equipment you will need, but don't worry the targets will be closer so you should be right on target.
Further details
The shared swimming pool is available April to October. It is covered and heated and you will have a key and can use it at any time during your stay and is next to Pendennis.
The patio is enclosed and just for the use of guests staying at Woodpecker Way
If you would like to order your groceries online we will take delivery and pack it all away for you at no extra charge.
The bedroom can be made up as twin beds or as a double.
Woodpecker Way also has use of the shared on-site indoor games room and large outdoor playing field.

Please Note:
A well-behaved dog is allowed at an additional charge but no other pets are allowed.
Strictly no smoking inside the property.
One third of the rental fee is due when booking and the balance is due eight weeks before your stay.

The nearest main airport is Birmingham (60 miles).
The nearest railway station is at Church Stretton (4 miles) which is on the Cardiff to Crewe line.
Other stations a little further away are Shrewsbury, Telford, or Wolverhampton. We will be happy to provide details of local taxi companies so that you can arrange a taxi to collect you from the station.
(NB: The quickest way from London is to Stafford by train and then by taxi or stretch limo!!).

A great welcome awaited us for our long weekend in Woodpecker Way. The property was perfect for our needs and was an ideal location for exploring the Shropshire countryside. Ludlow Food Centre was well worth a visit. Don't go out without a map as the lanes are not all signposted and visitors need to be happy driving down country lanes. |

Woodpecker Way is in a fantastic location if you want peace and quiet. Beautiful views out of the kitchen and living room; with the countryside literally on the doorstep. Woodpecker Way has everything one would need; extremely comfortable and was live a 'home away from home'. One of the best bits is the welcoming homemade cake which was lovely and tasted great. Woodpecker Way provides a great location for exploring the Shropshire countryside; which has some great walks and wonderful views. Definitely a place to re-visit time & time again. |
