Hambledon is a historic mansion built in 1856. The accommodation is fully self contained with its own private garden. The heart of our beautiful City is 10 minutes easy walk and we are surrounded by many fine dining establishments. Hagley Park is 5 minutes walk away for your early morning exercise. We have the perfect location to base yourself at to explore Christchurch and the Canterbury region.

The South Island region

Christchurch is the largest South Island City with a population in excess of 300,000. It is the most English City in New Zealand with a large number of Parks, stunning gardens and mature trees which is why it is known as the Garden City. Christchurch usually has hot dry summers and cool crisp winters. Apart from our many Central City attractions there are lots of very popular day trips also - Akaroa for Harbour cruising and swimming with the Dolphins, Hanmer for Hot Pools, Kaikoura for Whale Watching, the world famous Tranz Alpine train journey, Hot Air Ballooning and many wineries.

Within 10 minutes walk from Hambledon - more than 15 Restaurants and Bars, Hagley Park, Casino, Merivale Mall. Within 15 minutes walk - Museum, Cathedral Square, Arts Centre, Art Gallery, Movie theatres.

How to get there

We are an easy 15 minute drive from the Airport or 10 minutes from the Railway station. An easy to find location which is very simple to find from any approach road into Christchurch.
