The South Island region

Located on the east coast of the South Island, Christchurch is a city of contrasts. It is close to beaches and only an hour or two drive to several ski fields. It has retained some lovely old architecture and boasts some wonderful new buildings. Known internationally as "The Garden City" it has Botanic Gardens, 161 hectare Hagley Park, tree lined avenues and the Avon River runs through the city. There are many expansive parks and public gardens.The Floral Festival is held there annually in February. In 1996, Christchurch was acknowledged as the outstanding garden city from 620 international entries.

The Antarctic Centre, Art Gallery, Museum, Arts Centre are just a few places to visit. Akaroa on Banks Peninsula is a lovely day trip from Christchurch. Also within a short drive are wineries, rafting and jetboating, horse trecking, fishing, gliding, parachuting, bungy-jumping, tramping, surfing and skiing.

Travel to Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand by air (the apartment is 9 kms from Christchurch International Airport), or by car, bus or rail. The apartment is very central and is easily accessible by taxi, shuttle or bus.

Kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Also downstairs is shower/toilet/laundry. Two bedrooms and second toilet upstairs. Bedroom 1, queen-size bed, Bedroom 2, two single beds. Sofa-bed in living room. All beds are good quality with duvets and cotton linen. Covered off-street parking. SKY digital TV, DVD/Video and a CD player are provided for your entertainment. Telephone is available for local calls (or use your calling card for tolls) and internet (dial up). Cot and highchair available on request.
