The Dorset region

Christchurch is within easy reach of the New Forest National Park which has dedicated walking and cycling routes and boasts many picturesque villages. The quaint town of Lymington with its Quay and Harbour is just a short drive away. From here you can also take the ferry to the Isle of Wight where you can browse the charming harbour town of Yarmouth or take a ride around the island on the open top bus.

Bournemouth with its enlivened atmosphere, excellent shops and beautiful gardens is only five miles away and in the summer an open top bus -which can be caught near the house- runs along the cliff top.West Dorset is the heart of Thomas Hardy country and its rolling countryside boasts two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with its vibrant market towns such as Dorchester, there is plenty to discover.

Christchurch is famous for its magnificent Priory Church which dominates the Priory Quarter; the older part of the town with its many cosy cafe's and fine restaurants. The Quay and waterside walks contribute towards Christchurch's unique character. There is an interesting programme of festivals and events throughout the summer and held on a Monday, the town boasts the largest all year street market on the south coast.

Christchurch has a large natural harbour which can be enjoyed from the water, as a variety of ferry trips and boat excursions are available and some depart only 300 metres from the house.

The ancient headland of Hengistbury Head forms a natural barrier between the harbour and the open sea and leads to Mudeford Sandbank with its attractively painted beach huts and outstanding beaches. You won't have to go far either to enjoy open heathland, wildflower meadows and natural coastline.

"Ideal home in a great location"

Great location within walking distance of Christchurch Quay and the town. Good house with everything provided. Parking (we had 2 cars) was a little difficult at times but ability to use the rear parking space in the grounds was a real help. Great place to stay.

"Clean & tidy - ideal for the purpose."

Rented for our family visiting from South Africa over Christmas and New Year. A beautifully presented property - spotlessly clean - every thing one could wish for. Only negative was parking as there were obviously a lot of visitors over the festive season and so free availability was limited. Short walk into Christchurch town centre to all the amenities. Short drive to the beaches - gran children loved the sand even if it was very cold and windy!!!

"This venue was in an ideal location for our planned holiday and had ideal accomodation"

it was a very well equipped town particularly with regards to the kitchen. The decor was very well maintained. The location was ideally suited to the New Forest and other Dorset/Hampshire places of interest.
The only negative comment that we would make relates to the limited car parking

"Excellent accommodation - we couldn't fault it."

Spotlessly clean house with thoughtful little extras to make our stay more comfortable. We met the cleaner who was very efficient. We spoke to the owner by phone and met his daughter and grandson. They are an extremely nice family and are willing to go out of their way to ensure their guests have as pleasant a holiday as possible.

"enjoyable stay"

Had a lovely holiday at Spinnaker House. Very clean and comfortable. Very good location. Everything that you required was there although you had to bring your own towels and tea towels which was no hardship. Very quiet area.
