The West Country region
Christchurch is within easy reach of the New Forest National Park which has dedicated walking and cycling routes and boasts many picturesque villages. The quaint town of Lymington with its Quay and Harbour is just a short drive away. From here you can also take the ferry to the Isle of Wight where you can browse the charming harbour town of Yarmouth or take a ride around the island on the open top bus.
Bournemouth with its enlivened atmosphere, excellent shops and beautiful gardens is only five miles away and in the summer an open top bus -which can be caught near the house- runs along the cliff top.West Dorset is the heart of Thomas Hardy country and its rolling countryside boasts two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with its vibrant market towns such as Dorchester, there is plenty to discover.
Christchurch is famous for its magnificent Priory Church which dominates the Priory Quarter; the older part of the town with its many cosy cafe's and fine restaurants. The Quay and waterside walks contribute towards Christchurch's unique character. There is an interesting programme of festivals and events throughout the summer and held on a Monday, the town boasts the largest all year street market on the south coast.
Christchurch has a large natural harbour which can be enjoyed from the water, as a variety of ferry trips and boat excursions are available and some depart only 300 metres from the house.
The ancient headland of Hengistbury Head forms a natural barrier between the harbour and the open sea and leads to Mudeford Sandbank with its attractively painted beach huts and outstanding beaches. You won't have to go far either to enjoy open heathland, wildflower meadows and natural coastline.

Had a lovely holiday at Spinnaker House. Very clean and comfortable. Very good location. Everything that you required was there although you had to bring your own towels and tea towels which was no hardship. Very quiet area.

"A perfect property in which to stay and explore the area"
Spinnaker House is a very comfortable property in which to stay, everything supplied to make it a home from home experience, the owner is extremely helpful as we wished to book mid-week to mid-week over the Easter period which didn't cause any problems whatsoever-so close to the town centre, saving us having to pay for parking tickets, which has a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants and is also close to several areas of interest.

Perfectly located house close to the picturesque town of Christchurch. Within walking distance to the town centre.Close to supermarkets by car ,or the local M & S is more than adequate if have no transport. Very well equipped kitchen, Wi Fi available.
Perfect location to get to London by car or train , we drove several times & it only took 2 hours!! Would be perfect in the summer time for easy access to many beaches, & local attractions. Would definitely book again & the owners Albie & Jean were just so accommodating.

"A clean, well appointed house in an ideal location."
A lovely house to stay in, comfortable and clean. Well equipped.
It is in an excellent location for beautiful walks, especially if you cross the river on the ferry. Town is close by for shopping and browsing some unusual shops. Plenty of good and reasonably priced places to eat.

'Spinnaker House' was in the perfect location for us, being five minutes walk from Christchurch Quay in one direction, and about the same to Tuckton Tea Gardens and riverside walks on the other.
The property itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a nice sunny garden complete with comfortable garden furniture.
Our grandchildren spent many happy hours at the Splashpool and play park on Christchurch Quay, enjoyed trips on land train from Hengistbury Head out to Mudeford sandbank, and then, after a day on the beach, took the ferry back up to Christchurch.
The views from Hengistbury Head were spectacular, and the award winning sandy beaches at Bournemouth were within five minutes drive.
All in all the property was a delight to stay in....convenient for the shops at both Christchurch and Tuckton....eminently suitable for a family holiday.
I would be delighted to recommend it to my friends.

"It was exactly as described"
There was nothing that we complained about. The home was perfectly and extensively equipped, esp. the kitchen. It was quiet. We had plenty of space (with 3 of us), there was internet access, the heating worked perfectly (some colder days) and we enjoyed the vicinity of wonderful countryside, the town of Christchurch, the New Forest and the jurassic coast.

"Really clean and well equipped house in a great location."
We had a great holiday. The house was clean and beds made up on arrival. The garden has a small table for eating on sunny days. It is a very quiet and safe environment. There are shops within walking distance so there is no need to bring food etc. There is a washing machine in the house and a launderette just over Tuckton Bridge to dry your washing. There are walks in all directions. Our favourite was down the river, stopping at the Captains Club for coffee or afternoon tea. There is a Harvester restaurant within 3 minutes walk. A fish and chip shop within 5 minues walk. The town is an easy 5 - 10 minute walk which include a M & S food. The internet access was very much appreciated by our teenage children.
