Iridium is a spectacular curved contemporary 4 storey house on the edge of Christchurch Harbour, near Bournemouth on the South Coast and on the edge of the new Forest. The contemporary large cottage is located within the grounds of the Christchurch Harbour hotel, and benefits from the hotel's facilites on site which include a wonderful spa and indoor pool complex. The harbour is ideal for dinghy sailing, windsurfing and kayaking, we have a jetty and small slipway for sailing dinghies, kayaks, rowing boats and windurfers.

Mudeford Quay is located on the mainland side at the narrow mouth to the harbour, with the famous beach huts on Hengistbury Head just across the narrow run of water. This immediately opens out to a wide, shallow harbour, where Iridium and the Christchuch Harbour Hotel lie on the bank. The harbour has a clearly marked deep channel and from here you can go upstream into Christchurch, a most interesting and pleasant town, where the river becomes three and you can continue to explore upstream in a dinghy or kayak, or hire a small motorboat fron Christchurch Quay.

Mudeford has village shops, cafés and pubs, and just a few minutes walk from Iridium brings you to Avon beach, a wonderful sandy beach with facilities including a beach café. Mudeford adjoins Christchurch which has a large priory church and grounds with numerous footpaths meandering between river and town through historic parts which can make a very interesting afternoon's walk. There are ancient ruins which you can visit on one riverside, and within a few minutes be in the town, then through to the main quay on the other side where the quayside park with a bandstand and excellent childrens playground and new free waterpark, public slipway for motorboats and foot ferry offering river cuises, really has something for everyone.

Christchurch in turn adjoins Bournemouth, which was built as a 'new' resort town in Victorian times and has ome of the best sandy beaches on the South Coast, as well as the shops and nightlife the famous seaside town has to offer.

As well as the excellent spa and pool facilities on site, there are two restaurants including Rhodes South/The Jetty who can also deliver room service to the house on request. Booking is advised before your stay to dine at either restaurant. Alternatively book our chefs and waiters to provide a full restaurant experience in the cottage's own large kitchen/dining space or al fresco on the large deck with views over the harbour.

The four storey house was designed to make the most of the views from its harbourside location and has large decked balconies on all four levels, with views across the hotel lawn, and over the harbour to Hengistbury Head beyond. The lounge is on the top floor, with the kitchen/dining space directly below, so the living spaces have the best views.

The largest bedroom has wide folding sliding doors to it's decked balcony which is on the first floor at the back of the house, with views over the hotel lawn to the harbour. The other bedrooms are at the front of the house and have juliet balconies looking into the front gardens of the crescent. A ground floor room affords access to a large ground level deck giving you plenty of private outdoor space.

In addition to the delightful catering available on request , breakfasts and buffets tare available by ordering before your stay, we are happy for our chefs or caterers to chat diretctly with you to ensure they meet and exceed your requirements and expectations. Or self cater in the wonderful kitchen with Corian worksurfaces and Gaggenau appliances. There's dining for all guests together in the kitchen/dining space with full width sliding/folding doors to the balcony.

All bedrooms are en-suite double/family rooms, with Villeroy and Boch suites, all with a shower and the largest with a bath and shower. All have balcony, juliet balcony or full deck.

Patio furniture is supplied so you can appreciate the outdoors and the harbour views.

Local shops opposite, many more in Christchurch - just a short drive, walk, or boat ride away!

The West Country region

Mudeford is located at the mouth of the Christchurch Harbour, with picturesque fishing quay with the famous Hengistbury Head beach huts just across "the Run", the entrance to the harbour. Hengistbury head is amazing for a short walk encompassing views both ways, over the harbour and out to sea, lovely beaches on the south side, with the beautiful harbour on the north side. There is a quaint pub on the quay, and another pub with an excellent Thai restaurant attached in the lane itself. On site is the Christchurch Harbour Hotel and their spa and pool facilities are open to our guests as an option. There are two restaurants on site - Alex Aitkin's "The Jetty", and the hotel restaurant too. Small pontoon for kayaks etc or crabbing at higher tide. Ferry across to Hengistbury Head or walk directly into Christchurch.

Christchurch, Dorset

Mudeford is located just by Christchurch, a historic town with plenty of open spaces to walk and relax, and ample boating and watersports opportunities. Bournemouth is virtually joined by outskirts as is Poole in turn going further West. Real feel of Dorset but almost on the Hampshire border and 2 hours from London. New Forest very close by too, too much to do for a weekend!
