Delightful, quiet, Surrey semi-detached in a cul-de-sac street with large back garden fronting a nursery. Five minutes walk to the bus and Gordon's School, 15 minutes drive to Woking, 25 minutes by train to Waterloo and excellent value for money. An easy drive to Windsor, Wimbledon, Ascot and Wisley Gardens make this an ideal home to rest and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country yet still have easy access to London and Heathrow Airport. We are also surrounded by some of England's top class golf courses such as Wentworth and Foxhill.

The first floor has a master bedroom with ensuite overlooking the back garden, a guest double room, a bathroom with bath and shower and two single bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a front lounge, dining room and large family lounge facing the back garden. A fully equipped kitchen with dish washer, washing machine, microwave and espresso machine, wi fi, central heating and widescreen TV means you can wander back from the Hare and Hounds pub (great food and a 3 minutes walk) to pick your own apples in your own back yard or take a walk in the nearby forest to pick blackberries and mushrooms before relaxing in a warm home away from home.

This has been the home for many years for owners Mike and Rica Shanley so it is comfortable and we're sure you will enjoy living here as we have been. We live locally so we can take care of key handover and any problems that may arise. We are sure your stay here will be a memorable one.

Mike is a former military pilot and author of the novel "Strela".

The Surrey region

Surrey County is one of the best areas to live in England and Woking is at its heart. We are within thirty minutes of Windsor, Heathrow, Wimbledon, the Wentworth Golf Club, London, the RHS Wisley Gardens and Ascot and we are surrounded by green belt forests which provide idyllic country walks, peace and quiet, fresh air and a healthy lifestyle.


Brentmoor (old English for “Burnt Moor”) Road is a cul de sac leading to Brentmoor Heath and its forests, with four Bronze Age burial barrows and a network of walks that cover a variety of forests, pastures and fields of heather.

Gordon Boarding School is a three minute walk away and was named after General Gordon who was killed in 1885 during the Mahdi siege of Khartoum, Sudan. It has an excellent academic reputation.

There are also many restaurants and pubs nearby to choose from, the nearest being the Hare and Hounds which is a three minute walk away and serves good quality pub food. Woking is 20 minutes away and has a good range of shops and shopping malls as well as a 25 minute rail connection to Waterloo Station, London.

We're very sorry to hear you were not as happy staying with us as all of our previous guests have been. We strive to keep our costs down while providing a quality guest experience, which is why it is very difficult to find any other 6 guest houses like ours in Surrey for our price. You will remember when booking that we advised you that we cater for 6 people and that your group of 7 may be a little crowded. It is true that the house was built in 1920 and like a lot of period English houses, needs constant care and attention. This is part of the charm of our home and garden, rather than an antiseptic new-build. We have planned window replacement between guest bookings but we have been fully booked for several months now as well as next month, so we are sorry for this replacement delay. We use a futon in one of the smaller bedrooms because many guests asked for one so that they could fold it up to use as a spare sofa for quiet reading. Some couples also prefer to use that bedroom as an office while there so folding away the futon makes sense for them. We will certainly take your comments on board and strive to improve our guest experience. We hope to see you again one day.
