Enquire nowThe Paphos region
The town of Paphos is split into upper and lower Paphos. The lower part contains the harbour, and most of the historic sites, whilst the upper town has a market, shops and museums. Both areas are accessible by bus, taxi and there are car parks. Kato (lower) Paphos has a richness of archaeological sites, which qualified it as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the world famous Mosaics, the Odeion (roman theatre), Paphos Fort, Tombs of the Kings, Catacombs, St Pauls Pillar and the early Christian Basilica of Agia Kyriaki. The picturesque harbour, flanked by the impressive mosaics and fort, is lined with tavernas and cafes; an ideal place to sit and people watch. Kitma (upper) Paphos contains a daily fruit and vegetable market, Archaeological Museum, Ethnographical Museum and a covered market selling linen, lace, leather goods and pottery.
The Paphos district includes the beautiful fishing shelter and harbour of Agios Georgios, the 11th century Agios Neofytos Monastery, the unspoilt Akamas Peninsula, the beaches of Lara – a famous sea turtle hatchery, Aphrodite’s Rock, pretty Greek Cypriot villages, wineries, potteries and the Baths of Aphrodite. You can adventure off road to the Akamas’s gorges or Cedar Valley in the Troodos Mountains. Just beyond Pomos Point is a small fishing harbour and sheltered beach ideal for snorkelling or visit one of the many excellent fish restaurants overlooking the marina at Latchi. Coral Bay has sunbeds for hire and watersports, whilst Paphos boasts a blue flag beach. Other amusements include the Waterpark, Donkey Sanctaury, Paphos Bird Park, go-karting, horse riding kayaking, mountain biking, and in the winter as snow falls on Mt Olympus in the Troodos there is skiing, with equipment available for hire at the ski chalet on the mountain. For the adventurous try: www.enjoycyprus.com
At a more leisurely pace there are 4 golf courses within a 30 minute drive of the property and a driving range just up the road towards Coral Bay. Boat trips and fishing expeditions are available from the harbour, providing sunset cruises, snorkeling, live entertainment and cocktails.

As the review above, booking was really easy . Susan (owner) was very helpful and gave loads of information about the apartment and area. The apartment was great, had everything you need, and the welcome pack was really nice. The balcony had the sun all day, lovely sunbathing. Then cooling off in the massive pool, which we had to ourselves most times. Shops and places to eat were close by, and the local bus( very cheap) took you to Paphos harbour and other places. Thoroughly enjoyed our hol there, only wish we had booked longer! Hopefully we will be back soon |

Booking the villa was really easy. The owners sent us useful information and the directions from the airport were easy to follow. The property was spotless, the pool was clean and the large balcony was great for sunbathing. We were left a welcome pack to get us started and the large supermarket just down the road had everything we needed. The buses run about every 15 minutes, they're cheap and reliable, and the bus stop is close by. Maps, books and guides were available to use and we certainly made good use of them, adding a couple more to the collection. We enjoyed a lovely coastal walk right round to the harbour. There were plenty of places to eat out, which we did most nights. It was a brilliant holiday and we'll certainly be going back to Ikaria Village. |
