The Paphos region

The Paphos region is possibly one of the most diverse on the island of Cyprus. In one corner of the city you'll find renowned restaurants and cool lounge bars catering for the most discerning of visitors, serving up cocktails on their many contemporary designed outdoor terraces. Turning a corner leaves you literally in the centre of a world heritage sight displaying incredibly intact tombs of many Ancient Greek Kings, including just outside of the city - the birthplace of Aphrodite herself........This eclectic mix of modern style and ancient history adds up to an unforgettable and exciting stay within this popular tourist area. Off the beaten track are all kinds of trails and walks into the Troodos Mountains and plenty of off road biking is not too far away from the apartment. To see the region at its best a car is advisable although not essential if you are planning to stay local. Bus connections at the bottom of our road run a regular service in both directions along the Tombs of Kings Road. South into Kato Paphos or Paphos Town (5min journey) or North up to the best beach in South West Cyprus - Coral Beach (10min journey) . Take a trip to the beautiful Northern towns of Polis & Latchi for a complete change of scenery and perhaps lunch overlooking the marina.......... If its city lights you're looking for Limassoll is less than an hour away.

"Just what we needed!"

What a lovely apartment in a quiet area with stunning views of the coast north of Paphos!
This was our first holiday in 2 year so I was worried that we would find it hard to switch off from work, but sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine on our first evening, we were instantly relaxed.

The apartment has everything that you could need for a self-catering holiday and was clean and tidy on our arrival. There is a supermarket just down the road too, so it is nice and easy to pick up fresh bread in the morning etc. The area was generally very quiet (although there is some building work going on locally) and we barely saw anyone else around the apartments. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves!

During our stay we spend a few days out and about visiting friends and seeing the sights. I would recommend taking a cruise up the coast and a trip to the beautiful Coral Bay. We also went up to the Troodos mountains but it was pretty warm that day and I found it a little uncomfortable! I prefer to be by the coast!

Saying that, come the end of the week we really didn't want to go home. We will definitely be back in the future.

A few tips:
1. I would definitely recommend that you hire a car (air-conditioning a must) as the apartments are at the top of a hill and we didn't see any buses that went up there.
2. We found it a little tricky to find the apartments on the first day so a Sat-Nav would be useful

"A visit not to be missed!!"

This was our first time to Cyprus and we can honestly say it is now our favourite sunshine destination. Everyone was so helpful and friendly.

The apartment was perfect was for 2 adults, plenty space for 4 adults sharing also. A lovely big balcony with nice views to the sea and down to the swimming pool. It was nice and quiet when we stayed, even had the pool to ourselves for a day. The food hamper was there on our arrival, great for late night arrivals. It had the essentials that we needed. We were self catering mostly, the kitchen had very thing we needed. And everything was exceptionally clean. Also included a very comfortable bed, a powerful shower and a TV for playing DVDs. We would definitely stay here on our next trip! We walked to and from Paphos harbour most days, taking 45 mins one way, for the fit and able. Lidl is situated half way to town but there is also a supermarket 5 mins walk up from the apartment, the St Nicolas complex next door offer reasonably priced food and drinks, along with WI-FI and pool use.

Must do's - Paphos waterpark, Ayia Napa, hire a car to go North and to do the Aphrodite trail (6km). Turtle beach not worth the 4x4 drive/trek to get there unfortunately.

Thank you for a great holiday, we will be back next year!
