Borgo Dolciano is a typical complex of holiday houses in Tuscany, located in one of the most beautiful areas near the Lake Trasimeno, the ideal place to spend your holidays relaxing in the midst of nature, culture, good food and wine. The area was once a place of Etruscan houses as evidenced by numerous finds of settlements in the immediate vicinity.

We offer self-catering accommodations of various sizes, each spleeping from two to six people. All the apartments are individually furnished in rustic Tuscan style.

Within the estate guests can enjoy the use of a secluded swimming pool, gardens equipped with umbrellas, tables and chairs, as well as a barbecue area and free parking. A comfortable common room provides welcoming chilling area with books, tourist information and free WiFi.

The Dolciano hill, where our hamlet is set, is overlooked by an elegant 18th century villa with a splendid Italian garden, once the hunting lodge of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Leopoldo II.

The villa is now a private residence, but the garden and a charming church can be hired for weddings and other ceremonies.

The Tuscany region

"Borgo Dolciano" is located between Umbria and Tuscany, in the heart of the Chiana Valley, linking the areas of Arezzo, Siena and Perugia.

"Borgo Dolciano" enjoys a strategic location, as it sits:

-just 4 km away from the A1 motorway exit "Chiusi-Chianciano", 1 and half hour driving time from both Rome and Florence

-Only 3 km away from the railway station of Chiusi-Chianciano.

Chiusi is a lovely town famous for being the "capital" of Etruria during the reign of King Porsenna. An open-air museum, a quiet town where local shop owners still enjoy chatting with visitors on their doorsteps. All through the year there are many events promoting the city and its territory.

Montepulciano, perched on a gentle hill, with its notable gastronomy and its famous wine cellars, can be reached in just 15 minutes driving up a picturesque road. Many cellars offer guided wine tasting tours.

Another 15 minutes drive and you get to Pienza, with its famous cheese and its historic centre, a "UNESCO World Heritage Site".

Chiusi

Our area is called " land of three lakes": in the area you can visit:

-The lakes called "Chiari" of Chiusi and Montepulciano, destinations particularly coveted by naturalists and birdwatchers .

-Lake Trasimeno, with its charming villages and the possibility to visit by boat its enchanting islands

Our region is cyclists and hikers friendly. In the surroundings of Borgo Dolciano guests can practice sports in complete freedom: nearby offering include: horse-riding, 9 holes golf course (about 10 km away), bike-rental.

"Borgo Dolciano" is at close distance to the world famous thermal spas of Chianciano and San Casciano, where our guests can enjoy special deals. In addition to the above, there are numerous natural hot springs scattered throughout the countryside, like the famous Bagno Vignoni, where the ancient thermal pool replaces the village square, or the spectacular baths of San Filippo with their "White Ditch," a limestone formation of rare beauty.
