An ideal base for those wanting to explore the Cotswolds and further afield, the flat is comfortably furnished and has original features such as exposed beams in the bedroom (but watch your head!). Guests also have use of the owners' rambling garden, which in spring comes alilve with masses of daffodlils and in summer you're more than welcome to use the garden.
The Bakehouse Flat has direct access to the village playing field where you can enjoy some simply beautiful views over unspoilt countryside. With easy access to Oxford and its dreaming spires, the Cotswolds, Stratford and even London, the Bakehouse Flat is the ideal base for an English holiday!

The Central England / Cotswolds / Oxfordshire region
There is so much to say about this beautiful part of the world that you just don't know where to start! There is of course Oxford and the famous dreaming spires (for something different take a trip to the Pitt Rivers museum with its famous shrunken heads), punting, historic colleges and delicous cafes (be sure to take in the Covered Market).
Lovers of the great outdoors will be in their element in the Cotswolds; from gentle strolls to full on hikes, there is something for you! Or bring your bike and challenge yourself on the hills. Despite being a long way from the sea, you can even try your hand at a number of watersports at the Costwold Water Park near Cirencester. You can also visit Oxforshire's very own mini-Stonehenge, the Rollright Stones.
If you prefer to potter then don't worry, there are too many towns and villages to mention, but try Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury, Burford, Cirencester and Moreton-in-the-Marsh for starters! With traditional Cotswold architecture and plenty of opportunity for tea and cake stops, you can't go far wrong!
If you fancy a bit of city living, then there are direct trains to London Paddington from nearby Kingham station or travel by coach from Oxford. Both take less time than you may think.
Chipping Norton / Churchill area
Churchill is a small village in West Oxfordshire whose famous sons include Warren Hastings and William Smith. The village has limited amenities but does have an excellent pub and restaurant with a great local reputation, be sure to book up to guarantee a table! There is also a garage in the village (but no petrol station).
The nearest town of Chipping Norton is 3 miles down the road and claims to be the highest town in Oxfordshire! Here you will find supermarkets, chemists, antique shops, banks etc. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from, including: Indian, Chinese and Thai restaurants, brasserie style bar/restaurants and good old fish and chip shops! Ale lovers shouldn't leave without trying some of the locally produced 'Hooky' ale, from the nearby Hook Norton brewery. Chippy still has a weekly market and is a traditional working town, with beautiful architecture. There is also a cosy little theatre (with cinema screen) that is a favourite with many. Don't miss the beautiful church and alms houses either.
For golfers, there are courses in Chipping Norton and Lyneham. There is also a sports centre in the town, with indoor pool, squash, gym and more! During the summer the local outdoor pool is open and is very popular - it even featured on Top Gear when Jeremy Clarkson drove a Rolls Royce into it!
