Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Hoarstone Cottage, a carefully thought out barn conversion, is located in an idyllic rural setting with wonderful views and great facilities. The cottage is stylishly decorated to provide a comfortable and relaxing holiday home.
The living area is open plan and has a wide vaulted ceiling that creates a lovely light and airy space in which to relax with family and friends. From here, french doors open onto an enclosed private garden with table and chairs, barbeque and fantastic views across the Glyme valley, perfect for a spot of summer dining.
The kitchen is well fitted and fully equipped, providing all that is needed to prepare and cook anything from a simple salad to a Sunday roast - or even to do some baking with the children! A full sized dishwasher is provided, along with a fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster and the double oven faces the living area, excellent for chatting whilst cooking.
The living area has comfortable seating for five, a wall-mounted, flat screen HD TV with freeview and DVD player. A CD player & radio, with iPod docking station is also available, as well as books, games and puzzles for guests to enjoy. A selection of children's toys can be provided depending on the ages of the children staying.
The downstairs bedroom is cosy and comfortable with a double bed and plenty of storage space. Upstairs is the twin bedroom with lovely views from the roof light windows.
There is a contemporary bath/shower room with a large basin, powerful shower and a heated towel rail. Fresh white towels are provided.
Laundry facilities include a washing machine, washing line, pegs and laundry basket.
There is ample space for parking, and bicycles can be securely stored in one of the barns when not in use.
Hoarstone Cottage is heated with under floor heating. This is provided by a very eco-friendly ground source heat pump, which takes heat from the ground and provides a lovely, continuous warmth throughout the cottage. Extra cosiness can be obtained by lighting the wood-burning stove during those colder months (logs and kindling are provided).
The cottage is situated next to a large, open grassy area where guests can enjoy badminton, cricket, football etc and a bench for those who just like to watch and unwind.
New this year is the availability of a heated outdoor swimming pool for our guests to use. Beautifully warm (up to 28 degrees) and sheltered, our enclosed pool is a very short walk from the cottage. Whether you choose to do a spot of sunbathing on the loungers or take a dip in the pool, this fantastic new addition will be a welcome sight if the summer of 2014 is as glorious as the summer last year!
Hoarstone Cottage is one of two cottages located at Stone Farm. Whilst it sleeps four, if you have a larger group or wanted to holiday with another family in the same location, our sister cottage - Glymestone - sleeps a further four people. The cottages are close enough to each other to be able to do so, yet far enough apart to guarantee your privacy. Please see the advert for Glymestone Cottage within this website for further details.
Stone Farm is an 86 acre small holding located in the beautiful Glyme Valley, just three miles from the Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton. Peaceful, and with stunning views, it is the perfect place from which to enjoy all the countryside has to offer with a wealth of walks, cycle routes, bridleways and wildlife right on your doorstep. Yet it is within easy reach of plenty of interesting towns, such as Burford, Woodstock, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, to enable you to enjoy a fantastic Cotswold holiday.
Children will love exploring the surrounding countryside - there is plenty of space for them to roam around and play. Dogs will love the abundance of walks just outside your door (Stone Farm is located on both the Shakespeare and Wychwood Way). And couples will find this the perfect rural retreat.

The local town of Chipping Norton provides all your essentials: supermarkets, banks, post office, leisure centre and garage, as well as coffee shops, cafes, pubs and independent retailers.
The most visited town in the country - Burford - is just 12 minutes drive away, with its glorious collection of antique shops, cosy pubs, 'country' shops and nic-nac shops, not to mention the infamous Burford Garden Centre!
