Robin's cottage is a little hideaway to which you can escape to in order to find some peace and quite. It is the perfect place to regenerate. It is totally quiet. A little secret place hidden away in a village untouched by the twenty first century. As you walk down a little corridor into the charming garden and into the cosy cottage you enter a different world. The house takes you up in its old arms and lets you relax, let go and forget about things for a while. Robin's Cottage has been left as a home. I hope you will feel home from home here.

The cottage is in the old stable of a larger farmhouse. It covers three floors. You enter from the secret garden into a hobbit house. A wooden stove warms the house and hot water. The living and dining room . A alley kitchen with everything you need is accessible through two old wooden doors. A small tight windy staircase goes up one floor to the master bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a bath. Another set off old stairs leads up to the top bedroom with twin bed.

In the spring summer and autumn the garden is a wonderful extension to the house. It has old apple trees, whisteria draping over a weeping beech next to a little pond, wonderful climbing old English roses, a smoke tree, carpets of primroses and wild strawberries.

There are lovely local pubs, good restaurants and shops nearby. Oxford and Stratford are only 30 minutes away. It is a peaceful quite part of the Cotswolds from which you can access many interesting and beautiful places.

The Central England/Cotswolds region

Robin's Cottage is in the little village of Swerford near Chipping Norton, between Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. Banbury and Woodstock are nearby.

If you looking for a truly English England than you will find this in the Cotswolds. The gentle rolling hills, hedgerows, thatched houses, flowers in gardens and up the walls of houses. It is a place forgotten in time. Everything is still ok here. The people are incredibly friendly. Nature is breathtaking and cosy.

Blenheim Palace is nearby and definitely worth a visit. It has an incredible Capability Brown park, the largest labyrinth of its kind and the beautiful palace itself to visit. The Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Warwick Castle are also worth a visit.

Chipping Norton

Sweford itself is a relatively rare village as it is totally up influenced by the modern world. The houses are old with only one or two tasteful modern ones. It is very quiet and peaceful you hear the birds chirping, a lawn mower in the distance and the occasional horses hooves on the road. The roads are calm, the gardens full of flowers and everybody so open, friendly and helpful. It is totally idyllic.

On Saturdays and Sundays there is a little farmshop with homemade produce otherwise there is no shop.
