Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Tythe Barn Cottage, a Grade II listed property built around 1642, is situated in the tranquil North Cotswold village of Ebrington, near Chipping Campden. Built of traditional Cotswold stone, it has a thatched roof, exposed beams and many other original features.
The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and furnished, and offers homely accommodation for a self-catering holiday or romantic shortbreak in a quiet, rural location in the north Cotswolds.
The living area comprises a dining area and a sitting area with an inglenook fireplace and open log fire.
The sitting area has a cosy atmosphere with comfortable seating for four. There is free Wi-Fi, a TV/DVD and some boxed games for your use. For mealtimes there is a dining table with four chairs. You can really appreciate the charm of this beamed room, especially on colder days when the opportunity to have a blazing log fire in the inglenook fireplace may prove irresistible.
The kitchen is well equipped and has an oven, hob, microwave, washer/dryer and a fridge with a small freezer compartment.
A narrow staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom.
The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms - a double and a twin. The main bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and drawers and the second bedroom has two single beds and wardrobe with shelves and hanging rail. All the beds are divans with storage drawers. Bed linen and towels are provided.
The bathroom has a basin, WC and bath with handheld shower attachment. Access to the bathroom is via the second bedroom.
There is a small, enclosed cottage garden with lawn, flower beds and table and chairs.

The Central England/Cotswolds region
The Cotswolds is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the heart of England. The rural landscape of rolling hills and sheltered valleys harbouring beautiful villages of honey-coloured cotswold stone is enjoyed by many for walking, cycling, picnics and the rich diversity of wildlife.
Tythe Barn Cottage is situated in Ebrington - a tranquil village of cotswold stone cottages (many of them thatched) in the North Cotswolds. The village surrounds the church of St. Eadburgha, dating from the 13th century. At the centre of the village is the Ebrington Arms - an award-winning pub with log fires, local beers, a friendly atmosphere and very popular restaurant.
Nearby Chipping Campden is a market town. The elegant, terraced stone buildings on the High Street date from the 14th - 17th century and were built at the time when the town was prospering from the wool trade. At the centre lies the 17th century Market Hall built by Sir Baptist Hicks, a wealthy silk merchant. Today the High Street is an interesting mix of small shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants attracting tourists from far and wide.
There are many local attractions - the famous gardens of Hidcote Manor, Sezincote and Bourton House, the Cotswold Farm Park (owned by Adam Henson of BBC Countryfile), Batsford Arboretum, the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Snowshill Lavender Farm and the unusual collections at Snowshill Manor, Arts and Crafts at Court Barn Museum in Chipping Campden, Sudeley Castle, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon and of course, the many and varied towns and villages of the Cotswolds.

"A new experience"
This very old thatched roof cottage is centrally located in the northern Cotswolds and is a great base to visit the surrounding district. Sadly the heating hadn't been switched on when we arrived… More
Thank you for the review - it's always good to hear what our guests think of their stay at the cottage.
We're really sorry that our guests were cold on their first night and can only apologise again about the lack of heating. Unfortunately, before leaving, the previous guests had turned it off and we hadn't noticed.
With regard to the expected refund: Guests paying from overseas are asked to include £12 in their payment to cover any unexpected bank charges. On receipt of payment they are sent a receipt and a copy of the bank credit transaction which shows any charges incurred. In this case, there was a charge so no refund was due.
The descriptions of the kitchen and bathroom on the website are accurate and don't include a dishwasher and stand-up shower.
We know the mobile reception in the Cotswolds can be a bit variable but the Wi-Fi is on a landline so shouldn't be a problem - we will check it out.
