Built in c1750, Rosebank is a luxury, Grade II listed holiday cottage packed with charm and character. Rosebank boasts features such as oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and an original inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove.

In addition to the beautiful countryside, the Cotswolds boasts a wide range of attractions, including the famous towns of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway, stately homes such as Blenheim Palace and Snowshill Manor and outdoor attractions such as the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Also within easy reach of Hainault are the dreaming spires of the university town of Oxford, the spa towns of Bath and Cheltenham, Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Chipping Campden, the historic market town, is less than 3 miles away and offers a wide range of services and amenities. The nearest train station is in Moreton-in-Marsh which provides regular direct services to London Paddington (www.thetrainline.co.uk) in approximately 90 minutes.

The Chipping Campden / Ebrington area

The village of Ebrington shines like a jewel in a golden crown, its narrow lanes and tiny streets are aglow with beautiful mellow Cotswold stone houses and cottages. Some of the cottages are quite old and are topped with thick golden thatch, while others hide beneath steep tiles with slender tall chimney's. It is a harmonious picture that engages the eye and takes the mind back to the carefree days before the motor car and only a horse and carriage travelled the quiet lanes.

Just a short distance from Ebrington is the beautiful National Trust property of Hidcote Manor whose Cotswold gardens are said to be the most beautiful gardens of the 20th-century. In 1907, an American officer, Lawrence Johnson, began to transform what was just short of a wilderness into a series of superb gardens. The transformation took 40 years. These gardens are truly magnificent and a must for all garden lovers.

A manor has existed at Ebrington for several centuries, it was owned by the Fortescue family who also had estates in Exmoor. The ancient church of St.Eadburgha shows many monuments to the family including one to Sir John Fortescue in his robes as Lord Chief Justice. Sir John died in 1476. The church is mainly Perpendicular with some Norman work remaining in the north and south doorwars, of its other treasures the church shows a 17th-century canopied pulpit and medieval stained glass windows. It is a church that is worth seeing.

Situated on the crest of a hill, in the quiet village of Ebrington, Rosebank has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside - the perfect ingredients for a luxury Cotswold escape.

Ebrington village is a magical place offering privacy, tranquillity and a great base for exploring the local area. Several major Cotswold walking routes pass through, or near to, the village providing excellent access to the beautiful countryside.

The village is home to The Ebrington Arms. Situated next to the village green, the pub was voted the Northern Cotswolds 'Pub of the Year' in 2009 by the Cmpaign for Real Ale. The pub offers an interesting selection of beers, some of which are brewed in The Cotswolds, and an extensive menu which is changed on a daily basis.

“Beautiful Cottage for a perfect stay!” Ebrington is a lovely quaint village Ebrington Arms is definately worth going to - great food! Cootage was perfect for us and had the charachter we wanted. Plenty of room for family entertaining and comforatble beds 10/10 :)

“Beautiful period cottage” With regards to our stay at Rosebank cottage we had a great week, the cottage was very comfortable and had everything we could have required. The location was superb with good pubs serving excellent food nearby. We even made use of the garden having unusually good weather for March. Also there were plenty of good walks from the doorstep for our dog. We will definately consider staying at this property again.

“Beautiful Cottage from a very helpful agency” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosebank Cottage and would certainly be interested in booking with Character Cottages again if we were looking to stay in the Cotswolds area. We thought the standard of the accommodation was excellent with many pleasant little extras (including the first ipod docking station we have had in any accomodation) and we appreciated the agents quick response whenever we had a query or a problem. The local pub was only a minutes walk away and was just perfect. We would definitely recommend the cottage and the agent to our friends in the future.

“Wonderful stay in a fabulous cottage” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosebank. It's a lovely cottage and the setting is perfect. The cottage was extremely clean and very well presented. Rosebank is just how a cottage should be. We are planning on returning for another stay in the future.

“A cosy cottage in a lovely Cotswold village” We recently returned from another delightful stay at Rosebank Cottage. We are convinced this comfortable cottage can't be beat! The cottage itself is idyllic with and an inglenook fireplace and charming garden. We have no worries on arrival knowing that the cottage will be clean and well equipped, particularly the kitchen, which makes cooking a pleasure. The cottage is located in the small, traditional Cotswold village of Ebrington which boasts an award winning gastropub, The Ebrington Arms. While it would be easy to spend time in this comfortable cottage, the surrounding area beckons with its numerous public walking paths, lovely Cotswold villages to visit and, even the theatre to attend in Stratford upon Avon, and much more. From the easy to navigate website to their responsiveness to questions, the accomplished team at Character Cottages makes renting and staying at Rosebank Cottage simple. It is obvious that the staff cares about the client and wants us to have a most positive experience. Our experience over several rentals has always been Five Star. Of course, we will return.

“Rosebank Cottage - a fairytale location” Words cannot express how perfect this cottage is. We arrived in the dark, and when we woke to see the dawn in the village we were captivated. Ebrington is just like a fairytale. The cottage was perfect for our arrival - the cake was just what we needed after an international flight and long drive. Many thanks for the attention to detail, the cottage was so old world and cosy, and yet so functional for our family. We loved every minute of our stay, and were very sad when we had to leave. We would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone.

“We really enjoyed our stay at Rosebank Cottage once again!” We stayed at Rosebank last summer, for a fortnignight. We loved it so much that we decided to go back this summer as well, and we extended the stay by one week. It was so nice to arrive in the evening, quite exhausted, and find flowers on the tables and two bottles of good white wine there, together with all you need for a nice nightcup! And we never had to think about the weekly household, as a nice lady came everyweek, and saw to it, that everything was clean and tidy. It was really holiday! This time we brought our bikes, and thus got to see much more of the surroundings and the nearby villages than last summer. It's really a very nice area! Everything about Rosebank, Ebrington and the surrounding areas delight us, and we will be back! We live in Norway, and these two summers in Ebrington and Rosebank have made us even more "anglophiliac" then we were to start with. Our youngest daughter (aged 11) has stated that she wants to study in England, preferably in Oxford, and that she is going to work very hard to achieve that! Our son (aged 9) has decided that English is not such a difficult language after all, and he's even got a nice Brittish accent now! So, to say it shortly: We by all means recommend you to treat yourself (-ves) with a stay at Rosebank!

Pets are charged at £20 per pet, per booking.

Most weekend and mid-week breaks are priced between 70% and 75% of the weekly rate, depending upon the season. There are occasional exceptions to this rule, such as Cheltenham Race Week, when the prices may be higher.
