Chipping Campden

Chipping Campden, once the home of the richest Cotswold wool merchants, can be found in the northern tip of the Cotswolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching all the way down to Bath. It is a lovely traditional honey coloured stone wool market town with many of the buildings lining the curve of the High Street dating back to the 14th century. There are a variety of art galleries, antique shops, Hart's the silversmiths and the Arts and Crafts museum and the magnificent St James' Church, one of the finest churches in the Cotswolds built by wool wealth. In town there is a leisure centre with tennis courts, swimming pool, gym, the Cotswold Spa and nearby golf courses, horse riding and cycle hire. Chipping Campden is surrounded by glorious countryside with rolling hills, ideal for walking the many local trails and also for the start of the famous "Cotswold Way" national trail.

Throughout the year there are several festivals to look out for including:

Cheltenham Racing second week in March

Literature Festival May

Music Festival May

Cotswold Olimpicks, Dovers Hill Friday 29 May 2015

Scuttlebrook Wake Saturday 30 May 2015

A car is not essential as many surrounding villages and towns can be visited by public transport.

Chipping Campden is perfect for architecture, culture, great food, exploring, walking or just relaxing - the choice is yours. There is much seasonal variation - so any time of year is a good time of year!
