This recently restored farmhouse (sixteenth/nineteenth century), is situated on the top of a hill with a breathtaking view over the Loire Valley and some castles. It was fully renovated at the end of 2008, therefore offering a unique opportunity to stay in an historic farmhouse with all mod cons! The farm exists of two big separated houses (370 m2 and 400 m2), which can be rented. During the restoration only natural materials have been used and all authentic details are kept in their glory.
This top location is very suitable for several families or groups of 16-18guests. On its 1.5 hectares of private land, you will find an electronic secured and heated private swimming pool, a wine cellar, 5 sunny terraces and an enormous grange with a wooden table for more then 18 pers. Many toys for kids of all ages.

The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region
The Loire valley offers great diversity, stemming from the wealth of history and culture synonymous with the region, which can be seen in the numerous châteaux on the banks of the two main rivers (Loire ,Vienne and Cher). The countryside is lush and green with opportunities for birdwatching near the sand-banks and islands on the rivers Loir and Loire. Guided boat trips are available. Many specialist bicycle and walking trails are being created, with route guides available from Tourist Information Offices.

Within 2 kilometres you can find the nearest supermarket and there are multiple restaurants in the vicinity of Le Carroi Guerin. Also there are three 18-holes situated in a 20 km radius. Horse riding school in 2km. from the property. Hot air Balloon Flights possible. The beautiful village of Chinon, typical of the Loire region, is 10 km of the property and offers a variety of shops, dining options and terraces where you can just sit and watch the world go by! On the other side of the property, you have a stunning view of the castle of Le Rivau, within walking distance (see www.chateaudurivau.com).
How to get there
Fly to Tours airport, just 45 minutes from the property. Renting a car in Tours is easy and a good option.
Alternatively, if you are travelling within France or continental Europe, you can travel by TGV (high-speed train) to Tours, and then catch a connecting train on to Chinon. From the Chinon railway station, a taxi to Le Carroi Guerin will take just 10 minutes. Follow the sighn to the chateau le Riveau and le carroi guerin is within vieuw. If you choose to come by car, the property is 35 minutes from a main road (A10).

Further details indoors: This is a very spacious property, with over 700 square metres of living space in total. All the facilities are in both houses. The property both historic and modern, having been recently renovated and decorated by a Dutch designer.
The property also boasts one 15th century wine tasting cave and a wine cellar. Two off our bedrooms are large family bedrooms en suite. All 18 new beds and matrasses(latex and boxspring) 90x200. Both houses have all mentioned facileties Two bathrooms include shouwer and bath. All bathrooms have a bath.
