South Oxfordshire offers the perfect destination for a relaxing break around picturesque towns and rolling fields.

Oxford, 12 miles away, offers wonderful visits to colleges and long strolls around their parks and gardens.

Nearby are the market towns of Abingdon & Newbury. Abingdon's former town hall, which now houses the museum, is said to be the Grandest Town Hall in Britain. The hall stands on pillars and has a sheltered area for the market and overlooks the market square.

Newbury has a market that takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays and is a very popular destination for tourists.

"Content in Chilton"

We, myself with wife and two children, had a comfortable week in Chilton apartments with overnight stays by my brother and parents. The facilities were just as advertised and Sheila proved a perfect charmer providing all we needed in terms of information, background stories and professional management of a special place that is clearly close to her heart. It is just as precious to us now and we dearly hope to use Chllton Apartments as a base for our explorations of the Oxfordshire countryside and the Cotswolds in future. My only hesitation in writing so glowing a review is to make it difficult to book this rare place in future.

"Wonderful Place to stay"

We stayed in the cottage 6 nights and we loved it. The garden was a bonus to us as we were there for a wedding and the bride had pictures taken there. The cottage had everything you could need. Sheila… More
