This area of West Kent is famous for its Tudor homes & properties,

and there are many charming villages and

attractions for visitors. Both the famous Tudor street at Chiddingstone and Penshurst Place are within 1.5 miles,

while Hever and The National Trust properties of Knole, Ightham Mote and Churchill's

home at Chartwell, Westerham, are all within 20 minutes drive.

Nearby golf courses include Hever Castle, Villa Golf, Sweetwoods,

Nizels, Knole Park, The Nevill & Tunbridge Wells. For anglers, the nearby gothic

Chiddingstone Castle offers good fishing in the three-acre lily clad lake

(permit required).

It is also a popular area for walking. Watstock is on the Eden

Valley Walk. Ashdown Forest is some 7 miles away.

You will have a wide choice of nearby restaurants and pubs, many

supplying real ale from the local Larkins Brewery.

Chiddingstone village is 1.5 miles away by road or footpath and

boasts the famous National Trust Tudor village street of shop, houses and pub,

with oak-framed and white panelled buildings and the beautiful Church &

churchyard. It has been used several times as a filmset. A short walk across a

lake will take you to the gothic Chiddingtone Castle which houses a museum with

Japanese and Stuart collections.

Penshurst Place and its Gardens are 10 minutes away, an exciting

day out for you. With plenty of activities such as crafts, mazes, garden trails

and an adventure playground the whole family will enjoy this visit. The village

also has a Farmers Market on the first Saturday of each month.

Also within 10 minutes drive, Hever Castle was the family home of

Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII, and is another charming day out for you

to discover. It has an audio tour for you to experience during your visit.

Children will love exploring the adventure playgrounds, the parkland and the

yew maze. As a real treat in the summer

the family's entertainment. Furthermore, you can hire a little boat on the

large lake during certain summer months! And the castle hosts regular events

including jousting & triathlons.
