Casa Ana Maria is situated in the semi rural village of Pago del Humo, a village with a handful of ventas (bar/cafe) serving good food, a general store and pharmacy.
The villa looks towards the countryside on 2 sides. The grounds are enclosed and secure with parking for 2 cars.
Being on a corner plot, the villa is private, where you can just shut the doors and lock the world away! The main road to Chiclana is literally a couple of minutes away. Within the village there are 2 excellent places to eat, which are both well priced and serve quality dishes. Florintinas and the Sopressa (Casa Blas), both are about a 20 mins walk. Alternatively a drive of 10 mins opens the choice to Novo Sancti Petri, Sancti Petri, Chiclana or the excellent restaurants scattered around neighbouring areas. Golf is particularly well catered for. The Costa de la Luz region
Costa de la luz is unspoilt Spain, with miles of Sandy beaches. Its hosts a vast choice of places to visit, historic Cadiz (25 mins away), Seville (1 1/2 Hours away), and of course the home of Sherry, Jerez (less than an hour), to name but a few. There are an array of white washed villages, the nearest of which frame the horizon views from our villa, Medina Sidonia.
There are many things to do, such as a ferry from El Puerto de Santa Maria to Cadiz, a day trip to Gibraltar, or for the more adventurous a ferry to the Tangiers from Tarifa.
This is truly unspolit Spain, there are increasing amounts of English menus/English spoken, but be prepared to try out your own Spanglish!
This is the area the Spanish go on holiday, the quality of food from the supermarkets is outstanding and the restaurants truly do offer mouthwatering food.
Within Chiclana there are shady parks for children to play, horse riding is available, and you must not forget surfing. Tarifa is world class, and if you do venture down there, dolphin spotting can be booked.
Other activities available are Go Karting, Watersports (at Sancti Petri), visits to the sherry houses and Aqualand (about 20 mis away)
The beautiful beaches of Chiclana are only about a 10 minute drive. The most well known is the blue flag beach of La Barrosa which is lined with cafes. Sancti Petri and Roche are smaller beaches, but have rock pools and is not unlike those found in Cornwall. Further along the coast you will find Conil, a small bustling seaside village, which is well worth a look.
For the Golf fans there is a great choice such are the 36 hole one at Novo Sancti Petri, a report built around the sport. This course was designed by Seve Ballesteros, or another world class course is Valderrama, a little further away near Jerez.
