The Andalucia region

Cadiz Province has a vast and varied history with the main town of Cadiz being one of the oldest cities in Europe. The nearby Jerez de la Frontera is also the home of Sherry and as such is littered with Bodegas for you to visit and do some wine tasting. The area also boasts some of the prettiest white hill top towns such as Vejer de la Frontera or Arcos de la Frontera. At the southernmost point of the province is Gibraltar.

Chiclana

Chiclana de la Frontera is the nearest town and is your typical Spanish working town. From the villa in Espartosa you are 5 minutes drive to the main motorway up and down the coast so there is very quick access to places like Cadiz or Vejer de la Frontera as well as places a little further afield like Seville.

Most beaches along this stretch of coastline are just breathtaking. The golden sandy beaches stretch as far as the eye can see. The main beach of La Barossa is only 10 minutes drive from the villa and has places to eat at lunchtime to get out of the midday sun. It is ideally suited to families. Other beaches in the area are Novo Sancti Petri (15 mins), Roche (15-20 mins), Conil (20 mins).

You can also make a trip to Morocco via the port town of Tarifa at the southern part of Cadiz Province. The crossing takes 90 minutes and arrives into the port of Tangiers. Here you can haggle for your bargains.

"Peaceful retreat in Chiclana"

This villa was a perfect choice for a chilled out holiday in the Costa de la luz. The villa has much to offer a group of friends or a family. The villa its self definitely exceeded my expectations, photos don't do it justice, the property is very well looked after, like a home away from home. If I could of got the sofa checked in on my flight I would of done, so comfortable !

The villa location is tucked away and was very quiet, the plants in the garden looked like they were indigenous, great touch , we walked a short distance through the pine forests one day and it was great at night, hardly any light pollution so the night sky was stunning.

After a few days of chilling out at the villa we did several easy day trips to; La Barossa (20mins) great seafood restaurants, Jerez (45mins) sherry, Arcos (1hr) and Seville (1hr 45mins) very cosmopolitan. You really do need to have a hire car but the rates are really good.

"Relaxing place to stay"

The villa is set in a quiet part of Chiclana in a pine forest. Accommodation is spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Had a great relaxing time. Its a great part of Spain too.
