The South East England region

Bosham is in West Sussex, just two miles from Historic Chichester. The region is very close to the South Downs with lovely walks and is also very close to West Wittering and the long sandy beaches there. Bosham is a beautiful village right on the water of Chichester Harbour and is famous for its sailing. There is a stunning Norman Church and the famous Quay Meadow and the stories of King Canute.. A truly beautiful spot and a listed area of outstanding beauty. Chichester has many attractions, the famous Festival Theatre which is the home of many shows that regularly transfer to London's West End. The Cathedral is noted for its music and its architecture. The City itself all the many shops of any high street as well as fashionable and individual boutiques. Goodwood is just ten minutes drive way, where you can enjoy Horse Racing as well as the famous annual events of THE FESTIVAL OF SPEED and THE REVIVAL. Arundel with its Castle is just 9 miles away as is Fontwell which also hosts race meetings and other events. Brighton and its wonderful lanes and theatre and beach attractions is a little further down the coast..

Chichester

The local area has an abundance of restaurants to choose from either in Chichester (2 miles) or locally. There are two pubs in the village which both serve food, including the famous Anchor Bleu. There is also a very popular and pretty hotel, The Millsteam, which also has its own restaurant. Bosham sailing club is just a short walk from the house and here you can learn to sail and enjoy all that the waters of Chichester Harbour has to offer.

Straight from the house there are many wonderful walks, either across the fields or along the foreshore. A very popular walk with young and older alike is to walk from the house around Bosham Hoe along the foreshore to the Itchenor Ferry where you can take the ferry (including your bicycle) across to Itchenor to enjoy a pint in the pub there or walk/cycle further along the shoreline to West Wittering and beyond.

For children Bosham is ideal for playing in the harbour at low tide and watching the sailing boats, and canoeing. There are many races that take place from Bosham sailing club at weekends and on holidays. The sailing club is a members only club but it is open to residents on Thursday evenings.
