104 Orchard Street is an attractive, retro-styled period cottage set right on the edge of Chichester city centre in West Sussex. The eclectic mix of interior furnishings give the cottage a real character of its own.

Backing on to the historic city walls, 104 Orchard Steet has a semi open-plan ground floor with a sitting room at the front of the cottage leading through to a dining room. This then leads to a kitchen at the back of the cottage which has a cooker and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. There is a TV and DVD player in the living room and Wi-Fi internet access is available.

The attractive cottage garden is accessed through a small conservatory and this garden backs on to Chichester's city walls which date back to Roman times.

On the first floor of the cottage there is a double bedroom with plenty of storage space and a TV. The smaller second bedroom has a fold-out single bed, as well as a wardrobe and bureau, making it ideal as a small office space, if required. There is also a family bathroom which has a bath with a shower attachment, wash basin and toilet.

The West Sussex region

This area enjoys some of the best levels of sunshine in Southern England. It also boasts numerous historical places of interest, such as the Roman Palace at Fishhbourne, & the Weald & Downland Open Air Musueum. Goodwood House and Stansted Park are also fascinating places to visit, as is Arundel Castle. Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth has some of the best panoramic views in the south.

Chichester

Orchard Street is just a very short walk from the very centre of Chichester and so is extremely well located for all the shops, restaurants, bars and amenities the city has to offer. The history of Chichester dates back to beyond Roman times, but it is perhaps now most famous for its imposing cathedral, which itself is over 1,000 years old. The renowned Chichester Festival Theatre is also just a short walk away, which offers a great selection of shows throughout the year.

Other local attraction include the Goodwood Estate, known around the world for both its horse racing and the Glorious Goodwood week, as well as its motor racing events that include the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. One of the best beaches on the south coast is located at West Wittering, to the south of Chichester. With the excellent road and rail links, it is also easy to visit the cities of Portsmouth, famous as being home to the Royal Navy, and Brighton, which has a wonderful array of shops and bars. London is also less than 2 hours away, with direct trains from Chichester to London Victoria.

"Extraordinary Charming House in Central Chichester."

The property was extremely comfortable, even with a little boy. It was like staying at home, with all new appliances, kitchenware, design furniture and a lovely back garden. And located within a few steps to central Chichester. The only downside was the lack of a proper parking space, parking is not only not allowed on the street but it is not even possible to stop the car to take the luggage down without interrupting the traffic in a main road. The closest parking lot is 200 meters away but it is a short stay one so it is rather inconvenient and expensive. Having said that, I would recommend the place without hesitation, it was a lovely experience.

Unfortunately, the parking situation is a common problem around Chichester but I am glad it did not disrupt your stay to any great degree.
