St Martin's House is a beautiful town house located in the heart of the historic city of Chichester, West Sussex. The house offers extensive accommodation and sits within the ancient city walls, making it ideally located for the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars that city has to offer.

St Martin's House is a Grade II* listed building that originally dates back to between 1610 and 1620. One of the reception rooms had wall paintings on three of the walls dating from this time and there is still a small portion visible today. The house been owned by various Mayors of Chichester and from 1763 was used as the Customs house for the city.

For a house so close to the centre of Chichester it offers excellent accommodation with 4 reception rooms, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a wonderful courtyard style garden. This is all mixed with modern touches, such as Wi-Fi internet access and Sky television. There is also the benefit of a garage and an additional parking space.

After entering into the spacious hallway, the ground floor has 2 very comfortable sitting rooms. The stylish kitchen mixes the charm and character of a period property with many of the modern conveniences, including a dishwasher, range style cooker, coffee machine and a SMEG fridge/freezer. There is a separate dining room, as well as a utility room with a washer/dryer. One of the sitting rooms leads to the good size conservatory with seating which overlooks the landscaped courtyard garden. This garden is a wonderful contemporary retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, offering a central patio with seating, edged with raised beds and manicured feature bushes and trees.

The first floor of St Martin's House has 4 large bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom. One of these bedrooms boasts a magnificent 4-poster bed and panelled walls, giving a real sense of the history and character in the house.

Located just yards from the main shopping streets of Chichester, St Martin's House is ideal for groups of friends or families wishing to enjoy all the historic city and the surrounding area has to offer. You can enjoy a spot of retail therapy, an evening meal at one of Chichester selection of restaurants or visit one of the many local events and attractions. There is so much to see and do and it is all within such easy reach.

The history of Chichester dates back to beyond Roman times, but it is perhaps now most famous for its imposing cathedral, which itself is over 1,000 years old. The renowned Chichester Festival Theatre is also just a short walk away, which offers a great selection of shows throughout the year.

Other local attractions include the Goodwood Estate, known around the world for both its horse racing and the Glorious Goodwood week, as well as its motor racing events that include the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. One of the best beached on the south coast is located at West Wittering, to the south of Chichester. With the excellent road and rail links, it is also easy to visit the cities of Portsmouth, famous as being home to the Royal Navy, and Brighton, which has a wonderful array of shops and bars. London is also less than 2 hours away, with direct trains from Chichester to London Victoria.
