It combines character with modern comforts and it has a well equipped kitchen, with all the usual fittings required. The property has a private balcony which benefits from the superb paddock view and there is also a small private garden area to be enjoyed. Most of the accommodation is on the first floor and the kitchen, dining area and sitting room area are open plan with beams to the ceiling, typical of barns of this nature. The South East England region

This area enjoys some of the best levels of sunshine in Southern England. It also boasts numerous historical places of interest, such as the Roman Palace at Fishhbourne & the Weald & Downland Open Air Musueum. Goodwood House and Stansted Park are also fascinating places to visit, as is Arundel Castle. Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth has some of the best panoramic views in the south.

Chichester

Tucked away at the foot of the gardens of Navarre Lodge this property will appeal to most types of holiday makers. There are a huge amount of activities to do in the immediate vicinity. Birdham has a vibrant sailing community and Chichester Marina is within walking distance. In addition, the nearby sailing village of Itchenor can be accessed via a beautiful walk and the area is perfect for cyclists. One of the best sandy beaches in the south of England is only a 10 minute away in West Wittering, which is also a haven for windsurfers and sun bathers. An evening barbecue on the beach at West Wittering is a very popular event. Birdham itself is a very pretty village with a variety of properties and it is well served by a good village shop. Just to the north of the village is the famous cathedral city of Chichester. Dominated by the cathedral, the centre's character and heritage has been preserved extremely well and it has a wide range of interesting shops and places to visit. The internationally renowned Festival Theatre attracts actors and visitors from all over the world and Goodwood has both horse racing and its famous motor sports events. The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum provides a super day out for families, with a variety of interesting things and events/shows. With so much to do, it is no surprise that this is such a popular holiday destination, but equally people often visit for a quiet, relaxing break.

"A light and welcoming accomodation with a lovely view and setting!"

We stayed with our family in the Barn as it is close to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed in July. The property itself is in a amazing location looking out of over a field and within walking distance of Birdham Pool, a lovely traquil marina. Birdham itself is a very calm little village with lots of public paths and cycle path to the beach and located close to Chichester and the beach of West Wittering. The Barn was well fitted out and had all the nessecary utensils and looked immaculate.
We were very lucky that the weather was amazing and the children really enjoyed running around outside.
The Wifi did not work while we were there which was a bit inconvenient but the owners offered us to use their Wifi if needed.
We had a lovely time and would love to return again next year.

Thank you for your review and it is great to see that you had a lovely time at The Barn at Birdham.

Many thanks,

"The Barn at Birdham is very disappointing"

Our trip to a lovely part of the world was spoilt by the unsatisfactory accommodation and intrusiveness of the owner.
This is not refurbished to a high standard, one settee is tatty, the bedroom blinds are cheap and let in light and there are none in the main room.
Linen is provided, but only if you ask for it, you'll be making up beds yourself, and if a towel needs washing after you've left, you'll lose some of your deposit.
If you open a window the owner will knock the door asking if you've turned the heating off.
Keep away.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay. The Barn at Birdham has received a great deal of positive feedback in the past and so it is a shame to hear that you did not feel that condition of the property was of a high standard.

The owner does look to make up the number of beds required for guests, but I understand that additional beds were required to be made up for extra guests who stayed with you, so the owner provided the additional bedding on request. In a self-catering property, as opposed to a serviced property, it is not unusual for additional beds to have to be self-made, if required part way through a stay. We also understand that the towels mentioned were required to be replaced, as they remained stained after being washed. No charge would have been made if the towels could have been washed to a standard that would have been acceptable for subsequent guests to use.

We do hope that you can enjoy a stay in this lovely part of the world again in the future.

Kind regards,
