About the home

A well presented flint and brick cottage set in superb Dowland village, near Goodwood. The cottage has modern comforts, with a well fitted kitchen/breakfast room. It is only a five minute drive from the motor racing circuit at Goodwood. Lovely countryside all round.

This property provides an opportunity for both active holidays, and also people requiring a quiet break. There are lots of things to do and see, with Goodwood race course and motor racing circuit only a few minutes' drive away. The coast is about 9 miles distant, with a superb sandy beach at West Wittering, where you can wind surf, and there is excellent countryside all round for mountain biking, horse riding, and walking. The cathedral city of Chichester is only about 3 miles to the south, and it includes a great variety of shops as well as the Festival Theatre. This is one of the most sought after areas in the south east, and the cottage itself is very modern and cosy, whilst retaining character.

The cottage has 2 three seater sofas in the sitting room, and there is a television with DVD player (Freeview). The kitchen/breakfast room has a table and four chairs, and there is underfloor heating in the kitchen. A cot is available to hire. Bed linen is provided at the property, and for guests staying longer than a week, there is a changeover provided upon request. Please contact agent for further details.

Outside, to the rear there is a shared courtyard with a barbecue, and there are two parking spaces to the front.

Conditions

The reservation fee must be paid to confirm the booking, and this is 30% of the rent due. The balance is required 60 days before the start date of the holiday along with the booking fee of £35.00. If the booking is made less than 60 days before the start date, the full balance will be required. There is a refundable security deposit of £150.00 to pay with the balance.

Payment can be made by debit card or credit card, but please note that there is a surcharge of 3% for credit card payments.

The South East England / Sussex region

This area enjoys some of the highest degrees of sunshine in England, and is full of history. There is a wonderful stretch of coast including one of the best regarded sandy beaches in Southern England only about 9 miles away. The rolling countryside all round provides a stunning back drop to the village, and is full of Nature Reserves and places of interest.

The Chichester area

Horse racing and motor sport, including the internationally famous Festival of Speed and Revival Meeting, at Goodwood are with a five minute drive of the cottage.
There is an ancient Saxon church in the village, and the nearby city of Chichester is famous not only for its cathedral, but also its Roman connections. There is a fascinating museum at the village of Fishbourne (Roman Palace), and the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum is only about 4 miles away. This provides a great day out for all the family, with historical buildings and picturesque surrounds. There are excellent sailing facilities at nearby villages, Bosham and Itchenor, and numerous sporting facilities such as golf courses and tennis courts in the vicinity.

It is well served by road links to major towns and cities, and the nearest city is Chichester, which lies only about 3 miles to the south. The nearest major airport is Gatwick, which is about 51 miles away, and there is also an airport at Southampton, which is about 45 minutes' drive (A27). There is a ferry port at Portsmouth, which is about 16 miles away.
