About the home
The Olive Press Lodge, as its name suggests, is a renovated farm house where olive oil used to be made. The villa is situated on a gentle hill, about a 15-minute walk from the sea and the town centre. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday and offers a great opportunity to discover the Italian Riviera.
Its surroundings are a typical Ligurian garden with olive and fruit trees. It offers the shared use of an outdoor pool, barbecue area and the boules areas (petanque).
On the ground floor are the open-plan kitchen and living room with TV, stereo, DVD and internet connection. Its modern interior maintains the characteristics that once used to belong to the old country olive press. On this floor there is also a utility room with washing machine and ironing facility and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen includes dishwasher, smeg oven and hobs, electric grill, kettle, coffee maker, fridge, freezer and blender.
On the upper floor there are 3 double bedrooms (one with two beds) and two spacious bathrooms (one with bath and one with shower). The pool, the barbecue and the boules areas are easily accessible via a terrace from this level .
The Olive Press Lodge also offers air conditioning and private parking.
A cook and a cleaner can also be arranged for a nominal fee.
You can enjoy a complementary bottle of our home-produced olive oil.

Conditions
A booking made verbally by telephone or by fax or e-mailed is considered binding and must be reconfirmed within 5 days by e-mailing and then mailing a signed booking form to Adriana Coppola.
Availability of the property will be confirmed as soon as possible, but no booking will be made with the property owner or confirmed with the client until the completed signed Booking Form has been received together with the appropriate deposit. If a booking is cancelled prior to receipt of the signed booking form and due monies, a service charge equivalent to 20% of the total letting cost will be levied.
The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region
Liguria is a beautiful region between the sea and the Apennines. The coastal side is the famous Italian Riviera, for years the haunt of the rich and famous including Portofino and the Cinque Terre.
Liguria is rich in vegetation and has many spectacular vistas and natural itineraries in its regional parks and reserves.
The area offers many areas for walking and hiking. The beautiful coastline provides many opportunities for horse- riding, cycling, and on-foot excursions. The Alta Via dei Monti Liguri stretches along 400km of mountains crossing a landscape typically characterized by lush vegetation and rugged cliffs.
The sea is another great resource of this region, rich in marine life which includes porpoises and dolphins. These can be spotted in the sea mammal sanctuary established to protect this maritime area.
The Tigullio bay, enclosed by the nature reserve of the mount of Portofino and the peninsula of Sestri Levante, offers splendid views of the Mediterranean.
The Chiavari area
Chiavari, which is situated in the centre of the bay, is a typical Ligurian town characterized by a historical centre with arches and shady, colonnaded streets. It is a small town which offers many elegant shops, good restaurants and an excellent opportunity to live life at a relaxed pace.
We are on a small hill, surrounded by olive groves, close to all coastal amenities including beaches, marina and promenade restaurants, as well as to the centre of the town.
We aim to cater for your needs and offer three different properties for you to choose from:
Olive Press Lodge: a comfortable villa that sleeps 6 guests;
Garden Lodge: a smaller apartment that sleeps 4 guests;
Belvedere Lodge: ideal for a couple.
Our properties are all close to each other, making them ideal for groups of friends or families who wish to holiday together yet maintaining their own independence.
We have an outdoor pool, a barbecue area, outdoor dining areas and terraces. The properties are set in the olive groves, surrounded by fruit trees and lush vegetation. We are about a 15-minute walk from the promenade, the marina the railway station and the centre of town.
Florence, Milan and Turin are easily reached by train from Chiavari. Portofino and the Cinque Terre are about an hour away and are easily accessible by boat, car or train.

From the efficient booking process (which I did directly with the owner) to our greeting on arrival, Adriana was very friendly and welcoming.The Olive Press was a very special and relaxing place, exactly to our taste, with plenty of space and equipment for three couples, and in beautiful gardens. Everything in the accommodation was superb, with especially comfy beds.There was an easy walk into Chiavari, a very interesting, historic town, with busy antique, craft and general markets along its streets, covered arcades and in piazzas on three days while we were there. We loved exploring the area and could have spent longer than our week in October, as there was yet more to do. Highly recommended. |

Beautiful and top quality property and grounds in interesting location 20 minutes walk back from town centre/seafront of lively resort town. You can drive down too! Excellent both as a base for exploring the area or for relaxing in the villa and around the pool. Coastal train is the best way of getting along the coast either to Cinque Terra (East) or Genoa (West). Relaxed, friendly and helpful owning family live in adjacent main house (The Olive Press). You can hear traffic on the coastal autoroute further up the hill, but it's part of the character of this coast and it never bothered us. The many comments in the Visitor's Book are unanimously positive about all aspects of this special place, including those from several returnees from several continents. |

Payments
A deposit of 50% of the total rental cost is payable at the time of booking. The balance of the total cost is due no later than six weeks prior to the commencement of rental. If not received by this time the booking will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
For bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of rental, payment must be made in full at the time of booking. Prices are subject to variation in the case of significant fluctuation in the international exchange rate (Sterling to Euro). Payments may be made by personal or cashier’s check to Sabina Coppola.
Deposit.
A 200 Euro deposit is payable upon arrival, in cash. This will be refunded on departure. Please leave the property in good condition and inform us of any breakages/damages.
Cancellations
Cancellation fees will apply as follows:
• Up to 10 weeks prior to commencement of rental: 50% deposit
• 10 weeks to 4 weeks prior to commencement of rental: 100% of deposit
• 28 days – 0 days prior to commencement of rental:100% of rental cost
• In the case of bookings made less than 60 days prior to commencement of rental, cancellation fees will be charged as above, based on what would have been the amount of deposit (50% of rental cost)
What Rental Includes
Unless otherwise indicated, the weekly rent of the property includes water, gas and electricity. Linen is included. Heating during winter months will normally be an extra charge and is based on consumption.
Extra Services
Rental does not include food and other provisions. Cook and cleaning services are available upon request at nominal rates.
