Borgo Vitignano is an active 17th century farming estate on the sunny hills of Chianti only 10 kms from Siena and offers stunning views over the vineyards. It is immersed in unspoilt nature and is an ideal base for a relaxing holiday in the countryside, where the pace of life takes you back to times past. Being placed on the ancient Pilgrim path Via Francigena, Borgo Vitignano is rich of history. Cultural curiosity can easily be satisfied visiting Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Pienza among other cities in the area. At the same time, one can enjoy the gorgeous food and wine!!
Bisaccia is one of four apartments for rent in the Borgo (which also hosts the family residence and the farmer's homes). It is made up of an independent fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with an extra bunk bed, a bathroom with shower, a large lounge with tv and fireplace and a shared terrace with outdoors eating and cooking facilities.
A gorgeous public swimming pool is placed 500 mts from the house.

The Tuscany region
Chianti is a rather wide area of Tuscany (70,000 hectares) shaped by wonderful hills, valleys, forests and mountains running on pretty much a north/south alliance between Florence and Siena.
It is very famous for its red wine, named after the region itself and for the stunning beauty of its landscape, dotted by olive trees and lined by vineyards whose colour changing throughout the seasons make Chianti an all-year.-round wonder. Its continental climate with a moderately low temperature in winter (3º or 4º C.) is dry and hot in summer rising over 35º C. The temperature is not going into a significant alteration during the day because of the different height’s scales of the territory which are going from 250 to 600 meters above sea level and surpassing 800 meters in the mountains.
Chianti has been been producing suberb wines since the end of the 14th, the many medieval wine estates with their gorgeous castles witness this ancient tradition. N owadays Chianti wines, as well as it extra virgin olive oil, are undoubtedly among the most appreciated Italian products.

All Chianti villages like Radda, Greve, Castellina, Castelnuovo are worth visiting, so are the gorgeous Chianti producing castles scattered throughout the region. If you like walking, there are plenty of gorgeous marked routes. To quench your thirst for art and culture, marvellous art cities like Siena and Florence are half an hour's drive away, the Chianti region offers breathtaking views at your doorstep and the opportunity to visit some of the best wineries of Italy, tasting their famous Chianti and Super Tuscan. Cycling. Horse-riding, fishing, water parks for the children are all available within 15 kms.
