Home description

Podere Oliveta , which translates as ' Olivegrove farm', consists of 5 different apartments ( isituated in two independent villas ) which enjoy a pretty location up in the hills near Gavignano, about 10 km east of S.Gimignano.Each apartment has its own indipendent entrance and own garden area with barbecue . Much careful thought has gone into decoration, furnishing and ensuring the apartments are equipped down to the last detail. There is a sizeable swimming pool (12 x 6 mt.) surrounded by a sun terrace which has panoramic views overlooking the rolling olive-clad hills , the sprinkling of cypresses trees and the majestic towers of S.Gimignano in the distance.
Gavignano is a tiny hamlet where the breadman calls every day except Sunday and local wine and oil can be bought nearby .

Central Tuscany is where every image of Tuscany seems to leap into life , from rolling hills planted with seemingly endless rows of wine , or topped with dark straight cypresses, to medieval villages of mellow golden stone hiding tiny trattorie where a simple lunch can become a memorable meal,washed down with Tuscany's most famous export : Chianti.

Chianti / Poggibonsi area

Near Oliveta lies the town of S.Gimignano , a medieval masterpiece whose impressive towers dominate the landscape for miles around . every summer you can enjoy classical music concerts, wine tasting , village feasts and much more.
There are literally dozens of pretty towns and villages to visit. It worth a visit Greve, Castellina and Radda ; Volterra an impressive ly sited town with sweeping views over the surrounding hills and even to the sea.
Siena smaller and quieter than Florence boasts a wealth of architectural treasure , from its distinctive black and white cathedral to the magnificent piazza known as il Campo.
Not to miss Monteriggioni and Colle val d'Elsa with impressive fortifications now more likely to be used as intimate small restaurants than for defence.

How to get there

Fly either to Pisa or Florence airport
-cheap flights available to Pisa with Ryan air or Easyjet, car hire available with ryan air Hertz.
if you come by car , drive towards Siena along the motorway from Florence . take the exit of Poggibonsi north . Follow the directions to Poggibonsi centre and after 400 metres turn left towards Gavignano ( a tiny hamlet) drive for 2 kilometres. Pass Gavignano and take the first white road on your right. Oliveta is in front of you.

200 Euros deposit TO BE SENT to our BANK account. The remaining cost to be payed CASH on the day of arrival.
The costs for final cleaning is 50 euros.
Arrival time between 1 to 5 P.M.
Departure time before 9.30 A.M.
