Typical farmhouse of the beginning of '800 immersed in 14 hectares of olive trees and wood. Quiet position with astonishing view on the Arno valley. The Tuscany region
Tuscany is the region where lived Etruscan first, Romans later after Christ born. Florence with its gems is the capital of Tuscany and is at 35 minutes distance from Rietine farm by car. Arezzo and Siena are also in Tuscany and both are witnesses of the renaissance splendour. They are both at 30 minutes distance from Rietine.
Chianti area
Chianti is a large area of smooth hills at South of Florence. It is famous for the red wine that is produced from Sangiovese grapes. Chianti has unique landscapes, characterised by cypresses, olive trees, vineyards, and farmhouses. Food is genuine and this is a hearth of old cooking traditions and typical cooking recipes that made Tuscany famous in the world.
Close to Rietine Farm (700 mt) there is Cavriglia village with doctor and paediatrician, a Pharmacy and a very good food store (Coop). There is a famous rose garden (Fineschi) with more than 7000 different species of roses.
The area includes the typical wineries of Classic Chianti and olive oil DOC producers. There are two natural parks at Castelnuovo and Cavriglia. This last has several animal species (zoo) in their habitat.
Close to Rietine there are the village of Montegonzi with its narrow streets and the Abbazia of Coltibuono, an ancient monastery founded at the beginning of millennium by Benedictines monks. Running few miles towards Siena you will meet Gaiole in Chianti, with its famous red wine brand. Few miles away there is the village of Greve in Chianti. All this area is famous for the wine, for the cooking, and there are several Castles: some of them are opened to the public.
Trips from Rietine include: to Siena by car; to Florence by rail (leave your car at Montevarchi rail station 8km close from Rietine, and forget the nighmare of parking in Florence, the rail will bring you to the hearth of Florence in 30 minutes); to Arezzo (by rail) and to Cortona (by car).
Close to Rietine there are outlet villages of Gucci, Ferragamo, etc. where you can buy at the best price!

- By car: exit A1 at VALDARNO direction Montevarchi and then to Cavriglia (SP 408) for 8 km , turn on left at the first cypress after the red roadman house. - By rail: stop at Montevarchi railway station and take a bus to Cavriglia - By flight: - From Florentine airport, hire a car at the airport and drive on A1 to the South for 59 km, then follow as "by car" - From Pisa airport (Rynair low cost flights) , hire a car and drive until Florence and then as above, or take a rail to Montevarchi

Further details indoors: Within the farm, the apartments on renting are composed by two joinable sides , "Gli Archi" and "Belvedere":
- "Gli Archi" with 4 rooms and small panoramic terrace: one bedroom with king size bed + one bedroom with Queen size bed and an additional single bed + bathroom with shower and bide’ + dining room, in local style, with large fireplace, TV and telephone + kitchen with oven and dishwasher, but without washing machine. Small panoramic terrace with dinner table. "Gli Archi" side can accommodate 3+1 persons (the fourth under 12).
- "Belvedere" with 6 rooms and a kitchen: one bedroom with kingsize bed + one bedroom with two separated single beds + bathroom with shower and bide' + one bedroom with a single bed + one central dininig room. On the ground floor there are two rooms with piano and dining table, plus a kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher and oven."Belvedere" accommodates 5 persons confortably.
"Gli Archi" and "Belvedere" sides are joinable accomodating up to 8 persons. Thick walls of the building guarantee nice temperature inside without air conditioner
Further details outdoors: Outside there is a large square with an old quince tree and a lovely pergola with barbecue, bordered with grapes, canadians and lilac, in a panoramic position. This a large space common to "Gli archi" and "Belvedere". The farm holidays and part of the olive trees around are fenced. The area is safe for kids. Down from the Pergola, at sight distance, there is a "out of the ground" small swimming pool, with clored and filtered water. Pool subjected to seasonality. The yard has large shadowed areas. Parking for more cars in the fenced area.
