We offer clean rooms with fan and private bathroom with your private terrace that gives a beautiful view on the Maekok river.. Beds of good quality and comfortable. Food can be served the way Thai or Karen people would cook them at home. For breakfast, there is possibility to have an American breakfast style. The homestay is owned by Thai-Dutch family, where we speak Thai, English, Nederlands et Francais; and is situated in the middle of a Karen hill tribe village in a peaceful environment.

Karen Ruammit Village is at about 20 km West from Chiang rai city; along the Maekok river. This village is special because of the elephants trained by the Karen people here and by the mixture of hill tribe people like the Karen, Akhar, Mhong and others, all united in one village.

There are many activities in and around the village like ridding an elephant, waterfall, hot springs, bamboo rafting, 'hanging around in the village and see how people live and also have a look at their little shops with handmade products...

This is great for those who would love to experience a stay close to the people of the country and nature as well.

The North Thailand region

The North of Thailand is known for its lovely climate, hot but not too hot!

In the village you will experience a cool winter with even sometimes fog hanging on the river in the mornings and evenings, refreshing you after a warm day.

Nature is beautiful here. It's surrounded by rock mountains and hills cultivated with rice or corn. During winter and the raining season, the nature is at its top, it's all green, flowers coming up...

The home stay is located in a peaceful area.

With a guide or by yourself you can visit a waterfall, a hot spring, the jungle, an Akhar village, rice fields, and so much more!!
