"Very Disappointed Accommodation, Unprofessional Hosts"
Whilst the accommodation was in a lovely rural setting the description of the amenities at the home were misleading. The pool is at the owners home just meters from their bedroom and is accessed via their front door. The laundry is a significant walk from the house and the property is further from the town than stated. No access to taxis and the hosts are unable to provide the address in Thai so had to rely on a hired guide who can speak Thai and English to transport us. The hosts were unhelpful when asked to fix the hot water, and told us that this was how it was'. If you do stay here bring your own basic supplies like bottle water, toilet paper, bread, milk, butter etc as these are not supplied and access to shops close to the accommodation is very limited. We were forced to leave three days early due to the unsuitability of the accommodation and the hosts were verbally aggressive when approached about our concerns.
Thank you for taking the time to review our property/business. We truly value the opinions of our customers and we apologize that we did not meet your expectations. However, our description predicts exactly what a client can expect! It tells our location to be out of the hustle and bustle of town, and that a car is advised, it also mentions a shared pool and not the location of the pool, etc., etc. To be more concrete, a client who expects a private pool has chosen the wrong accommodation, following the villa's description a shared pool is promised, in this case located at less than 100 meters distance of the rental villa. The suggestion of the client to be the pool just meters from a bedroom and accessed via their front door is unjustified: Our shared pool is at 16 meters distance of a bedroom, which window is looking out over the central patio, and its curtains are always closed. Correct is that the host allows its clients to pass through the central patio of the main building, but not to look into private rooms. Those clients who cannot refrain from indiscretion can access the shared pool through the garden. A washing machine is not promised in the description, but one is available in a shared room with no extra cost to the client. Chiang Mai center and the airport are at 25 kilometers distance, or 20 minutes' drive and a car is advised. The complaint that there is no access to taxis is groundless, taxis are available anywhere in Thailand, and the client only has to give them a call. However, in this case an address written in Thai was not asked for and not necessary because we did service this client, by finding them a driver/guide with van for the full period of stay and the driver was also available for extra hours. The host did spend a full hour to explain the clients how to use a Thai warm water supply. However, we were not able (and not willing) to find another electric appliance, because it works correctly, we have no complaints of other guests. Bottled water, toilet paper, bread, milk, butter, etc… are not promised in our description: Ours is not a fully serviced villa, but a self-catering villa. Note: Toilet paper was supplied! Two local shops and two local Thai restaurants are available at walking distance, normally giant super markets and shopping malls are to be found in the city center, or along the Super Highways! Being us 8 years in the hospitality services, we were surprised by the grown children, kicking our life stock (peafowl) by foot, and not less by their parents defending incorrect children. These holiday makers still were able to amaze their well experienced and professional hosts, however in a very unpleasant way. This is the reason we are especially grateful to those writing intentionally an unreasonable review, it hopefully gives us the opportunity to extra advertisement. Contrary, it is hard to approach insisting clients, especially because a good reader will know their groundless claims are not justified, and in this case it was the clients own decision to leave earlier. Due to our professionalism we did expect this to happen, because the client did require refund several times, and we did write HolidayLettings.com an email asking for help the day before the client left… receiving a superficial reply days later! Lamentably, but reviews can contain positive, or negative intentions: Being TripAdvisor.com the publisher, they should feel obliged to compare a review with the description of the accommodation, and if there remains any doubt, to verify what in reality happened. We invite TripAdvisor.com and HolidayLettings.com to verify our accommodations!
