About the home

Woodfield is ideal for families, bring the children to watch the cows being milked! we milk 220 cows twice a day. or feed the calves. you can collect the eggs from our free range hens.Children must be under constant supervision,we are situated on a private lane walk down to the River Dee and into Chester.
Woodfield is a very large spacious bungalow ideal for large families we also have a fold up bed that could accommodate another person with anextra travel cot! making 9 persons we have a very big garden mostly lawned with borders and apple trees which double as goal posts for a game of football! surrounded by open fields noise is not a problem!

“A country break but still so close to the City” The bungalow is well equipped, light and spacious. We enjoyed seeing the cows go past the garden out to pasture each day, and all the other teeming wildlife; pheasant, partridge chicks,and a stoat . Birds abounded in the large garden too. Kathy and family were delightful and couldn't do enough- a broken washing machine was being repaired in half an hour!

“Heartbreaking To Leave” Fantastic time was had by all, Kathy and her husband are lovely people, who couldnt do enough for us. We had a lovely surprise on arrival, there was a real christmas tree in the living room,selection boxes for children, bottle of mulled wine for adults and a box of home grown vegetables. Mr Cottle took time out to show the children round the farm at milking time,and the new born calves the kids thought it was amazing. Chester is only a short drive away, and is lovely for shopping or walking round the city walls.Woodfield Cottage is a wonderful place to stay,but is heartbreaking to leave if you love farm life ,We will definately be returning.

“A home away from home - only better!” Woodfield Cottage is a lovely bungalow set in a beautiful rural setting next to a dairy farm. It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. I was delighted to find that the owner had left us with fresh farm eggs from her own chickens and a jug of fresh milk for our tea when we arrived. The garden is fenced securely so our dog could roam at will. It was very quiet and peaceful so we had a very relaxing stay. We will definitely be booking again next year.

“A Lovely Place to Stay” Woodfield Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is well equipped with everything you need, including pamphlets about the local area and places to visit. You are welcomed on your arrival with fresh milk, cookies, farm fresh eggs, and cut flowers on the dining room table. The bungalow is very clean, comfortable and roomy. It has a large private garden and is surrounded by open fields. The owner, Kathy, is extremely welcoming and she could not do enough to ensure that the five of us were comfortable during our stay. Visiting from Canada we were unfamiliar with the area, Kathy not only provided us with information regarding train travel to and from Chester, car rental locations, places to visit (and a host of other information), but supplied us with a GPS and giant map of Britain for our sightseeing excursions. We enjoyed our stay at Woodfield, and would definitely go back if visting the Cheshire area. Thanks Kathy

“Grandson would keep coming back loves it here” We have been there four times and are still going back as we all love it there. Plenty of space for the grandchildren and our grandson loves the farm. Lovely spacious and clean bungalow with everything that you would want. Excellant place to stay.

“A 'Golden Boomerang' Cottage - once you have been you have to keep coming back!” This is a superb detached cottage set on a quiet part of a working dairy farm; yet only a few minutes drive from the centre of historic Chester. The pleasure starts from meeting the friendliest and most helpful owner on the planet and continues throughout, enhanced by the location and the excellent facilities contained within the bungalow. It is in an ideal location for exploring in all directions, with easy access to the North Wales coast, the Wirral Peninsula and quick ferry across the Mersey to Liverpool and major reatail therapy available at Cheshire Oaks.

“Ideal holiday home for us.” Woodfield is a large bungalow and all services were provided. ie. central heating, electric cooker, shower, kettle etc. The utility room holds a washer & dryer. It is furnished with comfortable, clean furniture & includes a large TV with freeview & Wifi access. Kathy very kindly provides us with a jug of milk & her hen's eggs (free range) are delicious. I have a disabled husband & the layout is perfect for him. A large airy lounge with patio doors overlooks a very pleasant garden & all bedrooms & the bathroom are roomy. The location is lovely being on the outskirts of Chester in a dairy farm. About a mile or so from an excellent park & ride service which took us straight to the heart of Chester without any stops. It is also about 15 minutes by car from Cheshire Oaks outlet village. What I like best is it's proximty to my family hometown & that it is large enough for us to entertain my family whilst we are there. Chester railway station is also convenient for my husband's family who easily visit us by train. We can also offer overnight accommodation to friends who do not live in that area of England. Weather permitting, the garden is also large enough for entertaining our friends & family and has a fantastic bird life, something we miss in Canada. The dairy herd proved to be very entertaining to us & our visitors alike. I don't really have any complaints except the payphone does not have the facility to make overses calls, something that was easily remedied.
