We are located between two villages - each around a mile away - with traditional pubs serving ales and good food.
Birdwatchers can add to the growing list of sightings around the cottage, feed the badgers at night and hope to see the deer passing through. With its own patio and garden area you can sit under the oak tree, admire the bluebells and watch the wildlife. With access to a host of outdoor activities set in the lanscape of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean there are cycle trails, established walking routes and a huge network of local bridlepaths, access to river sports on the River Wye such as kyaking and fishing

The Powys/Brecon Beacons region
Peacefully situated above the woodlands of the Wye valley, within a few minutes drive of Tintern Abbey, but also easily accessible to the larger towns and cities of Bristol and Cardiff, its easy to get to, and difficult to leave!
Discover historic castles such asf Chepstow, Raglan, or Caerphilly. Explore birds and wildlife at Wetlands Centres in Newport or Slimbrige (or from the cottage!) Pack a small rucksack and head off on a circular walk chosen form the guides provided, or find a route with local pubs on the way. Riverside, woodland and coastal walks are all a treat - not forgetting the ancient Offa's Dyke.
Our industrial heritage will provide opportunities for visiting a steam railway, transporter bridge, coal mines, canals and locks.
And for the active, there's the winding River Wye for kyaking or fishing, and alond the valley you can find rockclimbing, cycle trails, a diving centre, golf courses, fishing ponds and much more.
With a Monmouthshire postcode but technically in England, your holiday will embrace both English and Welsh cultures. Sitting above the Wye Valley, and bordering the Forest of Dean, you have the opportunity to explore the wealth of historic and cultural offerings

Just what we needed, we have a 3 month old baby and just wanted somewhere we could totally chill without worrying about neighbours etc if he cried which obviously they do! We had everything we needed in the property, when we arrived Gina met us and showed us how everything worked and recommended a few places to go and eat. The accomodation was clean and well looked after and we felt relaxed as soon as we unpacked. We had a couple of days just relaxing and sunbathing but we ate out every night at the local pubs and everyone was so friendly especially at the Anchor the food was amazing too. If you want to do lots there are plenty of places to visit and lots of walks but if you just want a lazy time like us then the accomodation suits that too as there is a lovely patio area where you can just relax and at nightime watch the local wildlife, we had a badger come right up to the window. Overall a total oasis from the busy city!

Although we booked at the last minute and Gina was herself on holiday, she made sure we had everything we needed. The property was exactly as described and what we wanted, cosy but well equipped and comfortable.
The cottage was near the top of a hill with splendid views towards the Severn bridge. We loved the peace and quiet.
