The area is a paradise for walking, cycling and fishing with over 1000 hectares of lakes.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Creuse region
The Limousin lies in the centre of France, its capital is Limoges, which is famous for its porcelain. The area is abundant with lakes, rivers and forests. Most of the lakes, even the smallest have leisure facilities including swimming (lifeguard during summer months) fishing, windsurfing and boating.
With the larger lakes also offering power water sports. The Creuse is a beautiful department situated at the foot of the Massif Central, and is excellent for walking and cycling
Cheniers area
Cheniers (5km) is a village situated on the edge of the area known as "The Three Lakes," with several local attractions including the eco museum Tuilerie de Pouligny where you can join in pottery, art and craft workshops. Cheniers has 2 bars, a bakers, butchers, post office and grocery store. Each August it hosts one of the largest and famous brocants fair in France.
To the north in the department of the Indre is Aigurande (10km), a small town with several shops, a weekly market and a supermarket that will meet all of your needs. Gueret (35km) is the department's capital town and has many shops, supermarkets, restaurants and weekly markets.

How to get there
Situated 1 hour north of Limoges, 30 minutes from Gueret. And 30 minutes from the A20, Paris to Toulouse motorway.
By air :- Budget airlines Ryanair and Flybe both fly to Limoges. Car hire is available from the airport.
By rail :- Direct connection from Paris or Lille to La Souterraine.

Ground floor :- Open plan dining / reception room, with french doors leading outside. Separate cosy living room with log burning fire. Large farmhouse style kitchen with range cooker. Shower room leading out to pool area.
First floor :- 3 double bedrooms, large bathroom and galleried landing.
Second floor :- Large open plan galleried area, with living area, with corner seating and sofa-bed, where you can watch TV or listen to music. Big double bedroom and spacious shower room.
Although bedrooms have double beds, single beds can be provided.
Further details outdoors: Swimming pool with loungers, three terraces (one under cover), outside eating area with BBQ, table and chairs seating 12 people. Large garden with boules pitch, outdoor table tennis table, 4 adult bicycles, and a tandem are available.
