Cheltenham (6 miles) www.visitcheltenham.com
Conveniently located, Cheltenham is an ideal base for touring into the Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon and Bath. Regency town houses, characterised by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic Promenade, squares and terraces. With its award-winning gardens, impressive range of stylish shops and restaurants, and its festivals of horse racing, music and literature.
Tewkesbury (3 miles) www.tewkesbury.cotswolds.info
Tewkesbury is now a thriving town and at the same time is a living museum of architecture and social history spanning over 500 years. The town has such a perfectly preserved medieval character that in 1964 The Council of British Archaeology listed it amongst 57 towns "so splendid and so precious that the ultimate responsibility for them should be of national concern".
Tewkesbury is a pure delight to behold and we have no hesitation in highly recommending it as a 'MUST' place to visit by all tourists visiting the northern Cotswolds Gloucestershire region - an effort that will be amply rewarded in the memories and images you will forever keep and treasure. Tewkesbury is dominated by the 12th-century Abbey.
Gloucester (8 miles) www.thecityofgloucester.co.uk/ www.cotswolds.info/places/gloucester
The City of Gloucester has a unique history from its Roman foundations to its Victorian docklands. Gloucester is a vibrant multicultural city that combines historic architecture with a unique blend of visitor attractions, festivals and entertainment, a collection of high street and specialist shops and a mouth watering array of tea shops, restaurants, wine bars and pubs offer food and drink for all tastes. The city is overlooked by the Cotswolds Hills in the lush Severn Valley and is easily accessible from all corners of the country
The former abbey church founded 1300 years ago is now the cathedral church of the Gloucester Diocese.

The dovecote, an ornate country retreat which is just that bit special. Small picturesque lake, ducks & comfortable accommodation made this stay ideal. Our host was most welcoming & even baked us a cake. Directions given to the property and basics of tea, coffee etc provided as well as all bed linen and towels. Cheltenham is only a 15 minute drive away.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you can visit again sometime!
