About this location
The Gloucestershire region
The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding natural beauty, comprising hundreds of small towns and villages and hall- marked by the beautiful honey-gold coloured limestone used to build them. The region has a temperate maritime climate rarely experiencing very extreme weather, attracting visitors throughout the year. The Cotswolds has many relics from the Romans who built farmhouse villas here and the main artery of the Cotswolds hills remains the Fosse Way.
Cheltenham lies at the heart of the Cotswolds. With its elegant Regency terraces, wrought iron verandahs and balconies, overlooking tree lined avenues and gardens Cheltenham is a delightful place to explore on foot.
Locally, the Bath road shopping area offers a wide choice of pubs, bars and restaurants, (Moran's being a particular favourite) coffee shops, cafes, patisseries, and takeaways. There is also an abundance of fresh food shops and a market.
