Cotswold holiday lodge with views and tennis court
Log cabin | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Situated in the unspoilt village of Brockhampton in the heart of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty yet close to Regency Cheltenham, Coomb Cottage is a luxury log cabin with wide-ranging views out across our magnificent limestone uplands.
Coomb Cottage has been renovated to the highest standard with designer fabrics, eclectic interiors, high quality fittings, a neutral colour scheme and soft lighting to give a cosy and relaxing yet modern feel. The French doors open out onto the verandah, a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets over the Church tower of neighbouring Sevenhampton. All of the windows provide vistas across the Cotswolds.
The large sitting/dining room is wonderfully light but has a log burner to make a cosy sanctuary in the evening. The dining area has a padded bench seat which makes an intimate corner for meals. A wall hung tv/dvd player, a Bose radio/cd player, a varied selection of CDs/DVDs/games, guest WiFi and books all provide the perfect getaway from the rat race.
The kitchen is well equipped with granite tops, microwave, fan oven and induction hob. The shower room has a large walk-in shower and wall-hung basin as well as a washing-machine. Fluffy bath robes and towels are standard.
The bedroom has a luxurious feel about it with high thread count cotton white bed linen, a comfortable 5ft pocket-sprung bed (can be split into two beds), feather duvet, hairdryer, wall-hung tv/dvd player and a radio/ipod dock.
Our guests are welcome to use our hard tennis court which shares the same fabulous views as Coomb Cottage. Two high quality Specialized mountain bikes are also available for use. On arrival you will receive a welcome basket of local eggs, milk, bread, butter, jam, Cotswold Gold oil, a cake and a little welcoming draught of our homemade Sloe Vodka. Coomb Cottage will also provide tea, filter coffee, sugar and spices for your stay along with a basket of wood, firelighters, toiletries and cleaning products.
Bring your dogs. They will be well looked after, with bowls, old towels, an outdoor run and if needed a dog cage. Dog walking and sitting are available on request. Babes in arms are welcome and a travel cot is available. We also have a wonderful beautician/masseuse for your treatments, prior notice for booking recommended.
We've created a stylish and relaxing retreat so you can enjoy the holiday whatever the British weather throws at you!

The Central England/Cotswolds region
The Cotswold Hills are formed of a crescent of Jurassic limestone stretching from the Georgian splendour of Bath in the south to the orchards and water meadows of the Vale of Evesham in the north and the mediaeval university city of Oxford in the east. Exquisitely picturesque villages of golden stone nestle in the valleys and folds of the hills and form a contrast with the windswept uplands. There's plenty to see with many historic houses, exquisite gardens and individual shops and cafes.
History and glorious scenery are not the end of what the region has to offer, however. The Gloucestershire Cotswolds have easy access to the the architecturally complete Regency spa town of Cheltenham with its designer shops, Michelin-starred restaurants and nationally-significant music, literature and horse racing festivals. Oxford is 45 minutes away with its newly-renovated Ashmolean Museum, Pitt-Rivers museum and historic colleges, Shakespeare's Stratford-on-Avon is an equal distance away. Long-distance walks and mountain bike routes criss-cross the hills, punctuated by award-winning pubs and restaurants. The area is easily reached from London in a couple of hours via Oxford and the A40 or Swindon and the A417. Mainline train stations serve Kingham and Cheltenham.
Brockhampton is a pretty Cotswold village that sits on the high Cotswolds, eight miles east of Cheltenham. The village sits in the natural valley formed by the dip slope of the Jurassic escarpment that rises sheer for 1000 feet out of the Severn Vale, the top of which overlooks the Regency spa town of Cheltenham and the Norman Abbey of Tewkesbury and with spectacular views across to the Forest of Dean and the Welsh marches in the west. A few miles to the north is the pretty mediaeval town of Winchcombe with numerous pubs, restaurants and shops and the attraction of Sudeley castle, the burial place of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII's last wife. The village lies a couple of miles off the A40 and still retains its Sixteenth Century Cotswold stone village pub, the winner of numerous awards for its traditional real ales, good food, dog-friendliness, log fires and the absence of anything that might be considered modern. The village is popular with walkers and ramblers, road bikers, mountain bikers and horse riders. People, sheep, horses, dogs and visitors all mingle happily at a pace of life several times slower than the 21st century norm.
As a base for exploring some of England's finest countryside or for simply sitting down and allowing time to slow down to a standstill, we think there is no better place.
