Les Papillons is a stone, beamed cottage, set in the award winning village of Loubille, 7kms from the market town of Chef Boutonne with its restaurants, bars and Chateau de Javarzay. Market day is on a Saturday selling local fresh produce.

Loubille has a boulangerie which is 50metres from the cottage selling fresh bread and croissants as well as mouthwatering cakes.

Loubille also has a café/bar/shop where you can enjoy a glass or two of the locally produced pineau or just have a coffee whilst watching the world go by.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Deux Sevres region

Futuroscope (the theme park of the moving image) in Poitiers is just over an hours drive away.
La Rochelle and Cognac are within 90 minutes drive.

There are also some man made lakes nearby where you can swim or take a picnic.

Marais Poitevin (green Venice) is 45 minutes aware where you can hire boats to explore the canals.
We are situated in a micro climate, which has France's second highest number of sunshine hours per year.

Chef Boutonne / Loubille area

Loubille is a pretty village, famous for winning the flower competitions.There are pretty hamlets to discover either by foot or cycle. Loubille also has a 'lavoir' where women used to do their washing. Chef Boutonne is a pleasant market town.

There is a well stocked lake by the Chateau de Javarzay and plenty of walks around the old part of Chef Boutonne. The villages in the area all have different festivals and everyone is welcome.

How to get there

Ryanair serves La Rochelle, Poitiers and Angouléme which are all within 90 minuet drive of the cottage.
Eurostar goes to Paris or Lille and from there it is easy to get the TGV to Poitiers or Ruffec (car hire may be available).
From Boulogne or Calais, it takes approx 7-8 hours drive using the new A28 motorway.

Les Papillons is situated all on the ground. It consists of two large bedrooms, shower room with multi jet shower, well equipped kitchen and a large lounge/ diner with wood burner and wood floors.

There is a fully maintained pool with secure access, situated in the pool area, with sun loungers, tables and chairs.

We also offer various seating areas in the courtyard which are available in the sunshine or in shady areas.

We have two barbecues and our guests may have use of the cycles at no cost to explore the local area.

Linen provided but not towels or kitchen linen.

Terms and conditions apply and can be obtained on request.
We require 25% of the total payment as deposit.
The remainder to be paid 8 weeks before commencement of rental period.
Payment and deposit to be made as English cheque.

Conditions

No smoking in the cottage but can smoke outside.

Non refundable deposit of 25% of the total rent required to secure booking.

Balance payable 8 weeks before date of rental period.

Security deposit of £150.00 required in case of damage on arrival. This is refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
