About the home

Welcome to our romantic cottage for adults exclusively (To ensure peace & tranquility!) In the beautiful peaceful hamlet of Mandegault de Melleran, just a few minutes drive from the town of Chef Boutonne, in the south west of France.

Situated in a traditional south facing courtyard, the renovated holiday cottages retain many original features, some buildings dating back to early 16th century The beautiful cottage shares use of a 12m x 6m solar heated pool and jacuzzi, wonderful for peace, tranquility and relaxation.

Individually refurbished to a high standard with all necessary requirements for a home from home experience.
Each booking includes bed linen (weekly change), towels, gowns, Welcome basket. awaits your arrival! (Please bring your own pool towels)

This pretty detached stone cottage, has its own private garden and patio with garden furniture, barbecue etc.
The cottage comprises of:

Kitchen/dining area with French doors leading to pool terrace.
Well equipped modern kitchen, with oven, hob, microwave and washing machine.
Large sitting room with two comfortable three seater settees.
Double bedroom with en suite shower room.
Substantial welcome basket awaits your arrival!

The restored cottages share a private enclosed courtyard with the owner's farmhouse. There is private sheltered parking for all guests, keep out the midday sun!

Please feel free to roam the large garden , or use the bicycles available to cycle to the nearby Boulangerie for fresh baguettes & croissants.

Folding table ,chairs and picnic baskets available for daily hire, to explore the beautiful countryside, sunflower fields abound! Enjoy!!!!

Conditions

A non refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure a booking. Bookings can only be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

The final balance is payable eight weeks prior to rental period commencing.

A refundable security deposit of £150 is required in the form of a separate cheque with the deposit and booking form. The cheque is refunded within two weeks subject to satisfactory inspection of the property.

The Chef Boutonne area

CHEF BOUTONNE is approx 4km away with its fairytale chateau and 'Lavoirs' (ancient wash houses) which bubble with ice cold spring water, has a bustling market with stalls of freshly caught fish and local produce.

The regional speciality, Pineau de Charente, a delicious aperitif is served in pavement cafes in the town square. Fishing permits can easily be obtained for a days fishing at CHEF BOUTONNE in the well stocked Chateau lake.

Rochechouart Chateau (75.71 km)
Rochechouart is a magnificent chateau perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Grain and Vayres river valleys. This is the home of the museum of contemporary art. In 1985 part of the Rochechouart Castle was transformed into a museum for contemporary art.

Les Antilles de Jonzac (79.29 km)
Les Antilles de Jonzac is a vast leisure complex including swimming lagoon with slides, cascades and geysers and whirlpool.

Zoo de La Palmyre, Royan (91.78 km)
Home to 1,600 animals from five continents, the zoo prides itself on its conservation programmes.

Troglodyte caves at Meschers (92.64 km)
Meschers is a small fishing port on the banks of the Gironde just along the coast from Royan. Set into the cliffs here is a fascinating series of troglodyte caves which you can visit.

Aubeterre sur Dronne (95.18 km)
Aubeterre sur Dronne is located in southern Charente, close to the Perigord. A very popular tourist attraction, this picturesque village is situated high up above a bend in the river Dronne. Recognised for being one of the prettiest villages in France, Aubeterre sur Dronne offers narrow winding streets and ancient buildings to explore.
