Situated between the Market towns of Sauze Vaussais and Chef Boutonne, 10 mins from the N10 lies our lovely stone built detached family house. Set in it's own large, private courtyard, the farmhouse has been recently renovated but we have managed to keep its natural charm along with many original features including exposed stone walls, oak beams and high ceilings.
The farmhouse has a large fully equipped dining kitchen with fridge, freezer, electric range type oven with gas hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave, Double French door that leads out into the private courtyard and Charentaise Fireplace with wood-burning stove . In the large lounge there are 2 leather sofas, large screen TV with English satellite TV (free channels only) double French door that leads out into the courtyard and a large Charentaise Fireplace with wood-burning stove. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. The Master bedroom is en-suite. On the first floor there is also the family bathroom. In the large utility room you will find a washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron. There is also a downstairs toilet. WIFI is also available.
Bedroom 1 is to the front of the house and sleeps 2. It is the Master bedroom with king size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is also an en-suite shower room with WC.
Bedroom 2 sleeps 2 and is to the rear of the house. There are twin beds, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3 sleeps 3 and is to the front of the house, There is a single bed and a double sofa bed. There is also a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 4 sleeps 2 and is to the rear of the house. There is a Juliet balcony, double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
Family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubical.
In the garden you will find a portable charcoal BBQ, seating for up to 12 for outdoor eating, a hammock, childrens horse swing and climbing frame. There are also sun loungers available.
In the village there is a boulangerie, the ideal place to buy those fresh croissants for breakfast or your daily baguette. It is open every day except Wednesdays.There is a possibility of fresh eggs daily on site (subject to availability).
Ideal for families or groups that are looking for that quiet, rural location whilst being just minutes away from local amenities. The nearby villages, Chef Boutonne (6 km) and Sauze Vaussais (8 km) offer bars, restuarants, pizzeria. supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, pharmacies, There are plenty of local tracks just minutes from the house, ideal for those who like to enjoy a walk in the country, enjoy the birds and wildlife or set off for the day cycling. (Bike hire available locally).
Alternatively, relax in the courtyard, head for one of the local lakes or down to the local pool (6 Kms)
We aim to have the Farmhouse available for occupancy after 4pm. Guests are asked to vacate the property by 10am leaving the property clean and tidy. If guests opt for our departure cleaning service a charge of €80 will be made. This must be arranged prior to departure.
We do not accept pets inside the property.
We ask smokers to smoke out doors and not in side the property.
Wood for the wood burners can be supplied at an additional charge.

The Poitou-Charentes region
We are situated in the South of the Deux Sevres, just before the Charante border in Mid West France. The local area is rural and fields of sunflowers line the roads for most of the Summer months.
There are local lakes/rivers (20 mins) with small beached areas for bathing and both Sauze Vaussais (7 km) and Chef Boutonne (6km) have out door swimming pools.
The market town of Melle (20 mins) has a market on Fridays mornings. You can visit the Silver mines, indoor or outdoor swimming pool. There is a lovely park with children's playground. There are good restaurants with affordable lunchtime menus and a range of shops.
Marais Poitevin/Green Venice (50 mins) Enjoy the wonderful wildlife as you take a guided tour in a traditional flat-bottomed boat or horse-drawn carriage, paddle your own canoe along the canals, or hire bicycles to explore miles of marked cycle trails.
In the beautiful town of La Rochelle (90 mins) there is lots to see and do. There is the very popular Aquarium, art galleries, lots of historic buildings and pretty boutiques. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, many of them overlooking the harbour with is filled with yachts and catamarans. An ideal place to sit and watch the world go by. There is also a beach just around the coast from the main town.
Niort (40 mins) This lovely town offers excellent shopping made more enjoyable by pedestrian streets.
Poitiers (45 mins) A university town. Great shopping and sightseeing.
Futuroscope (60 mins) is a fun packed day out for all ages.
Angouleme (40 mins) with many fine 17th and 18th century streets and houses to wander. Walk around the ramparts of the city and see some spectacular views. Visit the wonderful morning market.
Cognac (60 mins) best known for the production of brandy. In Cognac visit the famed Cognac Museum and the houses of Hennessy, Martell, Remy Martin and Otard. Go to Jarnac to visit Courvoisier.
Limoges (90 mins ) A wonderful historic place to enjoy. Visit the porcelain factories and the many stunning churches and cathedrals.
Confolens (30 mins ) A beautiful medieval town that sits on the Vienne river.
Oradour-sur-Glane- (90 mins) Visit the fascinating World War II martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane.
Vallee des Singes – (35 mins) Valley of the monkeys is well worth a visit.

Chef Boutonne is our nearest town (6 mins) with everything you might need, including two supermarkets. U Express just off the market square is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 8 am until 12.30. Intermarche is a larger supermarket and is just around the corner from the Market place. Both have petrol stations. Around the market square in the centre, you will find a patisserie, a boulangerie, a boucherie, a cave (wine shop), a tabac selling newspapers, stamps, postcards etc, a pizzeria, a bar and restaurant and various other shops.
Javersay (8 mins) On the outskirts of Chef Boutonne, with two boulangeries, a vets, florists and hairdressers. It also has our nearest local park with children's play area, table tennis table, fishing lake with walks around, small chateaux, museum, boules pit and clean public toilet.
Situated just before Javersay is the outdoor swimming pool of Chef Boutonne.
Sauze Vaussais (8 mins) also has everything you might need including a large supermarket.
