Les Pins is a truly spacious and comfortable apartment. Three double bedrooms - two of which can convert to twins - and a huge living room with two balconies offering panoramic views across the village. Excellent views and outside seating in summer. Underfloor heating keeps the whole apartment warm in winter. It also has its own garage, cellar and ski store. Everything you need from ski equipment to mountain bikes and local delicacies is within walking distance.
Châtel lies at 1200m on the border with Switzerland. Les Pins is midway between the town centre with its Gondola to Super Châtel and Linga/Pre La Joux with chair lift links to Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets and Les Crosets. In winter with a Portes du Soleil pass you can ski at 2000m on different slopes every day. In summer you can walk in alpine meadows, scale peaks, raft in white water, swim, play tennis and laze by the lake. For families with small children Chatel's own ski nursery and adventure park is just a snowball's or stone's throw from Les Pins.

The balconies offer a great space to sit outside and take in the beautiful view of Chatel and the surrounding mountains. They also overlook the ski nursery in the valley.
Free buses stop opposite the apartment to take you to all the main ski areas and walking areas.
The apartment has its own secure garage and parking space, a ski locker and a cellar in the basement.

The Portes du Soleil is Europe's largest linked ski area comprising fourteen resorts straddling the French and Swiss Border. Quaint swiss villages like Champery and Les Crosets are linked with major french resorts such as Avoriaz, Morzine and Les Gets. Chatel lies at the centre of this network at the head of the Val d'Abondance and retains a traditional style supporting local farming as well as tourism. In winter there is excellent alpine and cross country skiing, in summer access to beautiful walks, lakes and some of the world's most challenging mountain biking. The lakeside spas of Evian and Thonon Les Bains are close by and the cities of Geneva, Montreux, Lausanne and Annecy in easy reach.
The Chatel area
Châtel lies at 1200m on the border with Switzerland. Les Pins is midway between the town centre with its Gondola to Super Châtel and Linga/Pre La Joux with links to Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets and Les Crosets. With a Portes du Soleil pass you can ski at 2000m on different slopes every day. Ski schools and nursery slopes are on offer at both locations and there is a ski nursery for small children next to the apartment.
Châtel caters for many local French people as well as visitors from the UK and Holland. There is a wide selection of restaurants and bars - traditional Savoyard and contemporary international. Everything you need from ski equipment to local delicacies is within walking distance. Travelling to the major ski areas or walking centres is easy by free public bus. The Abondance Valley offers picturesque villages and challenging outdoor pursuits including climbing, walking, white water rafting, kayaking and high ropes. There are many traditional savoyard businesses offering local cheese, sausage, wine and preserves.
The town has its own tennis courts and swimming pool, two cinemas and a bowling alley. Close by are several lovely spas including Lavey les Bains in the swiss town of Monthey.

Châtel is 90 minutes from Geneva. Budget flights to Geneva are offered by EasyJet, bmi, BA and Air France. Simply hire a car at the airport and choose swiss motorways or french N Roads. Fast rail services operate to Geneva and Annecy from Calais, Lille and Paris. The autoroute takes you almost all 900km from the Channel Tunnel.
