About the home

Chalet Rose was newly built in 2006. The chalet is 210m2 and offers space to 10-16 persons. Furthermore, for the childen there is a box and two baby-chairs. For the parents the log fireplace. With 4 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 1 quadruple room and one additional bedroom, the chalet is ideal for 1 or more families to have a wonderful ski or summer holiday. The chalet is located on 600m2 of its own grounds, has two balconies and a wonderful view to the mountains, where you can enjoy a white whine after a day of hiking or cycling. The family owned chalet is best suitable for several families or one large family.
In summer you can use the snooker table. There are sunchairs available for resting after a hike or aktive ski session. for at night there is a wooden fire stove outside and a BBQ. In summer several hikes start in the backyard of the Chalet. In Winter you can ski-out from the chalet to the skilift. A road with regular traffic is far enough away so your little children can play around the house without any danger for the road.

Winter 06_07 it was first rented out. For winter 07_08, 08_09, 09_10 and 10_11 all weeks were rented out during winter season.

• Basement level:
o Heated drying room with washing machine and dryer, and room for buggys and bikes.
o Large room with a bunk bed and a double sofa bed - suitable for the children to sleep and play.
o Bathroom with a shower, and a separate WC.
o A second room with a bunk bed
• Ground level:
o Very spacious ‘Salon’, the living room with fire place and large open kitchen, which is fitted with modern conveniences.
o WC.
o Bedroom with double bed and en suite bathroom with full sized bath, shower and WC.
• First floor:
o 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bathroom has a shower and a WC, the other has a full sized bath and separate WC. 3 bedroom have double beds, 1 has twin beds.

Winter:
The view of this family owned chalet is fabulous. In the morning you can ski downhill 150m to the parking of the Linga skilift in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. In the evening it is a three minute uphill walk to the chalet.

On every thursday evening there is night skiing at the Linga skilift opposite of Chalet Rose.

Without taking busses or a car you can start skiing every morning from the Chalet!!


Summer:
With a BBQ and lieflat beds you can relax in the private garden after an intense day of hiking or biking. and enjoy the fantastic view of the mountains. At night there is a firestove.
Just in 45 minutes you have the lake of Geneva with white sanded beaches or there is a lake in a 25 minute drive where your kids can enjoy canoing, sliding and cable gliding into the lake.
Chatel itself has a large outdoor Swimming pool. Chalet Rose is a very family friendly chalet you can rent.

* Bookings are from saturday to saturday each week during ski season. In summer other rental periods can be applied
* Linnen and Towels can be provided (at additional costs of EUR 20,- pppw)
* In the evenings the daughters of the local hostess are happy to watch your kids
* In Chatel there is childcare for during the day
* All guests will receive the chalet cleaned up. A professional cleaning staff will check the chalet Each week after our guests have left it clean. No additional costs for cleaning staff is necessary
* The owners speak fluently English, Dutch and French and moderatly German

Conditions

* All rentals are handled by the family Herremans (Scout Herremans or Ariane Roos- Herremans)
* The option for rental will become final if 50% of the rental fee is paid
* Refundable deposit Eur 750,- per rental period
* Local tourist tax of 0.75 Eur pppd
* Four weeks prior to the rental period the remaining 50% rental fee, the refundable deposit, local tourist tax and rental of linnen and towels should be paid
* Deposit will be returned within one week after rental period when hostess has approved Chalet Rose
* Firewood, Free Internet access through WIFI are included in the rental price

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Located in the Portes du Soleil ski area is the picturesque and unspoilt town of Chatel. It is an all year round working town with immense charm and character. There are two full seasons Winter and Summer, in spring and autumn it is no less charming but reasonably quiet. Chatel is one of 14 connected resorts of Portes du Soleil. Beautiful and picturesque Swiss villages of 'Champery' and 'Les Crosets' sit aside the major French resorts of Avoraiz ,Moraine and Les Gets.Châtel offers skiers and boarders access to 650 km of piste and 204 ski lifts. This is a huge area for summer walking and downhill mountain biking too. Chatel has been unspoiled by commercialism and has retained its charm as a typical Savoyard farming village.

Summer temperatures rival the Mediteranean or other beach resorts with last summer hitting 35 dgr Celsius very often.

The Chatel area

Les Portes du Soleil are of course known for being the largest European skiing area. Here, you will find 650 km of connected slopes, of which 170 km blue, 380 km red and 100 km black ski slopes. Therefore both the experienced, as well as beginning skiers will have the time of their life. People preferring to ski off piste can rent a guide, showing you the most beautiful places of Les Portes du Soleil. Close by the chalet are ‘les Marmottons’, the kindergarten and ski school for children.

For cross country skiers there are 240 km loipes. A few tracks start across the chalet. Furthermore, there are beautiful hiking tracks when taking the ski lift up. One can also enjoy bob slay track in the adjacent Pre la Joux.

For more action or the need for sensation, test one of the many activities offered in the surrounding villages: from parapente to the Fantasticable.

Chatel is situated in the beautiful Portes du Soleil. Les Portes du Soleil are situated in the Northern Alpes, between the Mont-Blanc and Lake Geneva. The weather is both in the winter as well as in the summer perfect. In winter, Les Portes du Soleil is certain of snow, in summer it is sunny, but not too hot.

Ski from your front door! The chalet is situated across the Linga ski lift, which gives access to Les Portes du Soleil. Also the centre of Chatel is nearby: half an hour by foot, or a few minutes by car or local skibus. The skibus goes every 10 minutes and stops in front of the chalet.
